The Pendulum Wars have ended, Emergence Day has passed, Tollen and Montevado have been destroyed.
It's time for the Assault on Landown.
Having been freed from prison to lead the Delta Squad against the Locust, Marcus Phoenix detonated the Lightmass bomb and destroyed much of the Locust Hollow. That, however, was only the beginning for Marcus, as he now prepares himself to finish the war against the Locust once and for all.
He won't fight alone as Dominic Santiago remains loyal to Marcus, ready to step up the intensity on the battlefield. The "Cole Train" and Damon Baird add to the Delta Squad in their ongoing pursuit of the Locust.
Delta Squad will be prepared with the trusty Lancer Assault Rifle and the almighty Hammer of Dawn, along with a few new weapons at their disposal. The Scorcher Flamethrower will have you smelling charred Locust flesh in no time and it's range can be amplified by a perfect reload. The ink grenade will blind and poison nearby targets. On the defensive side, the Boomshield left behind by Maulers can be equipped to repel enemy fire. Marcus and his team are also now able to use grenades as mines, taking out unaware Locust oblivious to the danger left behind.
Vehicles are now a larger factor in the fight against the Locust. Aside from the Junker, Delta Squad will pilot the Centaur Tank, a thick armored, all-terrain assault vehicle, and the Armored Personnel Carrier (APC), which combines speed and fire power.
The Locust army will be prepared with countless enemy types, including the deadly Brumack, the mysterious Kantus, and towering Reavers.
With the Assault on Landown quickly approaching, will you be able to guide Marcus, Dom, and the rest of Delta Squad to victory?
Gears of War 2 hits stores on November 7th, 2008.
