Jerkass of the Week: MURCKED
02.22.07 - The Monsters
Since this is the first ever JOTW, we figure we better let you in on the scuttlebutt of what this feature really is. Monster 1 of 2 and Monster 2 of 2 play games together. A lot. Throughout these adventures, they come across some outstanding people... but sadly, a whole lot of terrible ones too. The gamers mentioned within these articles are people that the Monsters come across that act like complete jerks, all without any sort of provocation. Why do they do what they do? What makes them want to act this way towards someone they don't even know? We have no clue, but we're going to make sure someone hears about the stunts they pull. After all, it is the least we can do.

This guy takes the cake. He managed to give both Monsters the impression that he was the biggest jerkass on the planet, all in under 30 seconds! The following event happened in Gears of War, on a 9 round, ranked game on Rooftops during the very first round:

The entire COG team roadie runs to the weapons. The Monsters are out in lead. Monster 1 of 2 passes the Hammer and proceeds to the sniper where he picks it up. Monster 2 of 2 runs into the tiny one room area and grabs the Hammer. Before Monster 2 of 2 can even take another step with his newly accquired weapon, MURCKED (One of the COGs) immediately becomes irate that he didn't get his weapon of choice, the HoD, and begins to scream and yell obscenities. Instead of waiting till the next round to get it, which is what a normal person would do, he decides to act like a a child by blocking Monster 2 of 2 in the HoD room by standing in the doorway. Fantastic.

Monster 2 of 2 attempts to push him out of the way but he can't budge the guy an inch, despite the fact that Fenix can push a dead Berserker for miles in Single Play. Monster 1 of 2 shoots a few sniper rounds at him in an attempt to make him move, but he doesn't. Monster 1 of 2 gets a couple of perfect reloads. Monster 2 of 2 proceeds to get a lucky kill by firing out the window towards the enemy spawn, causing said jerkass to fire his lancer non-stop at Monster 2 of 2 while continuing the verbal assault. Apparently this has upset him more.

After about 20 more seconds of being stuck, The Monsters decide to leave the game which understandably must have upset the innocent fourth teammate. It just goes to show you that show one guy ruins the fun for everyone. The Monsters decided that enough was enough and that the best way to deal with it was to just bail. They also set him as an Avoided Player, then left him some Unsporting Conduct feedback.

What is worse than acting like a jerk on Xbox Live to complete strangers and earning negative feedback? Getting featured on a site that receives over 20,000 unique visitors a day as the very first Jerkass of the Week.

Congrats friend, you're a tool and now everyone knows it. Guess you're murcked now.
