Wow...8/10? I would have given it a 6 or a 7. I saw it for the second time (unwillingly) last night, it wasn't something I was excited to rewatch.

Really? That's a shame. I hope I feel differently about it. Out of curiosity, what gave you a a bad feel about the movie?

Just a small thing, it did kinda rip off goldfinger...
And the Gun barrel thing happened at the end...

Yeah, I was watching some reviews on the film. I heard that it didn't so well.. I'm still going to see it. Just because it's a Bond film. :)

I liked it a lot, but now that I actually think about it, there was hardly any plot to it. I should watch some of the older Bond films when I get the chance.

Your run-of-the-mill Hollywood action flick. Basically started without any intro and ended without any real close in the story. No gadgets, Bond was MUCH too serious, most of the older actors who played Bond had a certain hint of humor.

The beginning driving scene and the scene in Italy were pretty awesome.

I saw it and I'm not sure if it was hard to follow because of constant jumps in the plot or the lack of one. Either way, it didn't fail to disappoint.

Totally agree with this view. The film built up to a point but I couldn't work out what the climax was meant't to be... Then it ended.

The intro is set 5 minutes after Casino Royale, he is taking Mr White to a safe house to interrogate him to find a lead on the organisation he is taking down. The story had a two way split to it, in which part of the reason he was taking quantum down was to do his job, and the other was to seek revenge for losing Vesper. At the end we find out he doesn't care about Vesper anymore, and he drops the necklace into the snow. This is metaphorical of Bond not caring, letting go of any feelings he has and moving on, hence him becoming James Bond as such, as he is meant to be cold blooded towards holding emotional value to women. The story i believe is meant to be a trilogy, as there are still other members of quantum out there, such as Mr White etc.
Gadgets, well they aren't really what bond is completely about, i don't think we have seen the last of gadgets, it's just that Quantum of Solace and Casino Royale didn't have any in the books (i know that Casino Royale definitely doesn't, i'm not sure about Quantum of Solace though.) Bond wasn't serious, he spoke in few words which is how he is meant to, and there was humour to what he said, it wasn't the best it has been, but it was still there.

I would probably give the film a 7 or 8/10. I didn't like the editing and camera work in the action scenes, shaky cameras in action sequences annoy me, and i didn't think the storytelling was great. I will buy it on DVD as i have all of them anyway, and i want to watch it again to make sure i understand the plot completely.

From what I read, the guy who made the Borne series, forget his name was the influence for the epileptic action sequences...

The action is similar to the Bourne films, but i don't like how the camera always has to shake, or how bits are edited out of the action sequence. It's all there to make you get an adrenaline, but if you watch it, you can't completely tell what is happening, especially when it's a close up. I would rather be watching it and definitely knowing what is happening.

Looking back on this film, it could have been a lot better, but i still think it was a pretty good bond film. The bad guy was pretty **** come to think of it, especially right at the beginning when Bond is just out in the open watching everything he does for about 10 minutes, right next to his base of operations :S Plus his sidekick was a joke, although it was funny when he tripped on the stairs.

The film could have done with about an extra 10-30 minutes, for example, no build up to Bond and Fields romance scene, could have been more time to build on Dominic being a better villain.

Gotta agree with this post. The film was an over-all enjoyable to watch, Action scenes were pretty intense. I have to say, I think Daniel Craig could possibly be the best Bond in my opinion. Again, great movie. 8/10.

Was i the only one that thought they changed camera angle WAY too often in some of the movie's action scenes?

Daniel Craig isn't a great Bond IMO. I loved Casino Royale, but this movie was not that great. I would say a 7/10. Sean Connery, Roger Moore, and Pierce Brosnan are the best Bonds, by far. I would say that Craig would come after them. There were two or three other Bonds who played in just one or two films. I think one of them was Timothy Dalton, maybe?... He played in License to Kill and in one other Bond film.

I actually own every Bond movie (other than Quantum of Solace) and they're all pretty enjoyable. I should give them a watch sometime soon.

The more I think about it, the more I realize how good Daniel Craig actually is at playing Bond. However, I think when he wanted his character to be bisexual and hook up with guys along with girls, I lost some respect and was like WTF!? Bond can't be a f*cking homo!

^ I'm sure most of you haven't heard about that.... It was in the news a long time ago (year or more) and if you dig around the internet, I'm sure you'll find it somewhere.
