The XBLA version of Banjo-Kazooie looks and plays really well on my HDTV. It takes up the whole screen and I'm not sure what exactly they did to the graphics but they look better than N64 graphics. For instance each of the 900 notes in the game are now rendered in high-definition. Also new to the XBLA version are speed-run leaderboards for each of the nine levels.
I had an N64 ten years ago and BK was one of my favorites. It was just as fun today to go through it again, spending 13 hours finding every note and jigsaw piece and unlocking the 12 achievements. If you want to get all the achievements as fast as possible you could use a guide and do it quicker, but the best part of the game is exploring each level and discovering everything for yourself.
I'd be interested to hear from a younger member who has never played this game what they think of it. Are platformers really an outdated genre?

I think it is totally worth getting. I personally have not gotten on the 360 yet because im waiting to get 1600 points for Christmas. But I got Banjo Kazooie in either 1998 or 1999 when i was 6 or 7, and it has always been one of my favorites. I would highly suggest buying this game because it's such fun humor, and for me it brings back the good old days of having no worries.

I got my parents to rent me this for a straight month when I was 12. I cannot wait to get my hands on it again.

Is this worth getting if I still have the N64 version of it? I recently acquired a copy of Banjo-Tooie (yes that name still sucks) for the 64 from a friend of a friend, but we just got an HDTV to replace our big old TV, and now the game looks positively god-awful on it.
Have they updated the graphics that well? And I have to imagine that they'll eventually release BT on the XBLA wouldn't you think?

The graphics are better on the XBL version. Original games are usually upgraded to justify the cost and add to the WOW and nostalgia factors.
On topic, yes the game is worth it. About the best game on XBL if not in the top 5. It will take a good 12 hours to finish with a guide but its fun to explore and play on your own.
I think this is the game that turned me into a completionist. I loved chasing all the notes in the original just to say I had them. Found all the jiggies and Jumbo Tokens with no guide.

Tried the demo, and all I can say is: WOW!!!!!
That is one amazing graphical upgrade they've done for this! I doubt I'm going to pick this one up, not unless the price drops, but that's still a beautiful bit of work they did cleaning it up!
