dead xbox

i dont know if it was time or something for my 1st gen to die but i downloaded ffxi then freeding frendy and now my xbox freezes and sometimes it (the power switch) goes red. can anyone help? do you think it could be a virus?

try switching power sources, outlets in the wall. maybe thats a bad outlet...

Yeah I have that problem occasionally. My 360 will freeze and I just restart it. Though I am not sure about the red power switch; that has only happened to me when a cable is disconnected. Or do you mean the light on the actualy power supply of the xbox? Cuz if so I will look into that and see if mine is doing it.

if your talking about ur xbox and not your 360, its probably just done. I think just at some point it just stops working. But I had mine for 4-5 years and never had a problem till it finally gave out.....luckily just a little while before 360 launch.

do this
1-unplug ALL of your connections and replug them all back in. Make sure they are securely plugged in.
2-make sure there is PLENTY of air around the 360 and the power brick

That red power symbol is a bad sign. It either got too hot or its about to crap out on you.

I've been through 5 (4 refurbished) consoles already! worst part of all this is that my original console was a third gen, but they kept sending me 1st gen consoles in return.
