I'm leaning towards free. I think I remember Chris Cashman (the host) saying it would be free to play after the beta one night.

I don't understand how they would make you pay. Last night they introduced video advertising during Stat Breaks. Not to mention they usually advertise a Xbox Live Arcade game right in the center of the Mob. Prizes don't seem too major either, the most the One seems to be able to walk away with is 10,000 MS points if he kicks everyone from the Mob out and the top three players in the Mob get something like 800 MS points if the One loses.

Yeah, I'd be very surprised if this wasn't free, Im a bit annoyed that the beta isn't on in the UK, wer never get exclusive betas
