It's definately an English thing. You either like it or you don't.Simple really.
Just either whack the ball,or try and bowl them out!

Ok i started working at this new place a month ago, got talking to this American girl and in a random conversation i explained the whole cricket to her in a sentance or two.

Ok so cricket is close to baseball. In fact apart from a few different rules the game is actually the same concept. in baseball there are 9 innings in cricket there are either 1 or 2. Highest number of runs (points) wins. the aim of baseball much similar to cricket is to hit the ball in a particalar place to avoid the outfield team in order to then run and make it in time to score a point. or equally to hit the ball far enough to reach the boundary and score a set number of points, much like a home run? (kinda) in baseball you have 3 outs per innings, in cricket you have ten. and the pitcher or bowler aims to get the batsmen (hitter) out. In cricket the ball has to bounce in delivery but instead of striking the batsmen out, a similar motive of making the batsmen miss the ball, the bowler must try and hit the stumps ( 3 wooden sticks) to get him out. Or if hes caught in the field he is out also.
