Thanks to Burning Vegas for setting this up and being in charge of this group. Yes there was an old group but that is full of members who have left etc. So hopefully with the new leaderboard and now this new group we may be able to bring some life back to this place!!

to get all your old stuff, you'll have to use a tool called squidpunch's streaking synch saver

log into 360voice then select settings from the upper right...then look for 'save your streak, synch your data' (third in the list)...

follow those instructions

I still can't figure out that site/tool

yesterday I started and finished tmnt, ran the tool
later I found someone to help finish off pocketbike racer and I did that and then ran the tool again
both times it said streak locked in and that game info for those two games would be updated for the next blogging day

today, they show up onthe blog as completed, but in the played games area tmnt isn't there at all and pocketbike is missing the two achievements I did yesterday

as a result they're not yet showing in the completed games photo in my sig

I'll run the tool again today when I get home and then they'll likely
show up tomorrow, but what gives?

No idea. Maybe you need to update your "Microsoft .NET" from Windows Update - I didn't even have the service installed on my comp, so I had to download the whole damn thing. I've never been able to get rid of .NET, either. Only used it that one time, but it's been slowing my computer down for no good reason since.

my general gaming pattern has been to try and do one easy game during the week, and one easy game on the weekend. of course that won't always be the case, but I have plenty of easy ones lined up on gamefly.

I'll probably join every one, if only to motivate me to actually work on some games. Personally, I like 7-day challenges better, since there's more time...but a 5-day challenge (Mon-Fri) would be cool - that would help weed out people who spend their entire weekend knocking out easy games. I usually make an attempt to have a social life on weekends. ;)

I work Monday thru Friday and every other Saturday, as well as the occasional Sunday. I like the M-F idea because it seems to create a more level playing field. There's no one good way to do it, though, because we all have different schedules and "handicaps" (such as jobs, school, kids, smallpox, etc).

Anyway, I was just saying that I don't usually spend my weekends gaming, so I wouldn't be gaining very many achievement points (if any).

So...i sent a sync request to 360-vioce support (i can't for gods sake get this sync tool to work :( )

They e-mailed back that my gamed had been synched, i guess i'll have to wait another 24 hours for the changes to update though (as i still see no changes regarding badges and games played)

Hopefully i'll only have to synch this once (i don't care about streaks, i just want my old games to show up and count)

Anyways if everything works fine we could soon get a FPS-expert badge for our group, IF my calclations are correct, and the sync request works out correctly

How come they 360voice make stuff that complicated? Trueachievements (registered 2 days ago) was able to track my score within 5 min. AUTOMATICALLY!!!(without the need of some strange sync tool or support staff!)

Its nice to see my 'trueachievement' score is actually twice as high as my gamerscore :D :D cool stuff

Agreed we should start our own group to rebel against him =D Although in the last 7 days, going by the mosty recent achievement thread, he has put up enough to be in the lead anyway.

I should have waited with my 'Pickelhaube' - chievoe for Toy Soldiers would have added 25 GS to my challenge score ... well it's not so bad i'm glad it's finally unlocked, i almost got frustrated on that final ration in 'Fort Vaux+' ... curse that friggin' biplane (mostly because even after obtaining the ration i can't use that thing properly, stupid plane controls!)

all kidding aside, even if I did Jericho I wouldn't be as high as you are showing

grinding out cities in rockband is so much work
sometimes it's more than 50 songs in a city just for a 10 point achievement

and how on earth did they think it was a good idea for the endlist setlist to be worth so little? in rock band 1, 58 songs at roughly 4.5 hours....medium is 10 points, hard is 20 points, expert is 25 points. even stacking them, 58 songs on expert (requiring 2 people/instruments) nets you 55 points

rock band 2 is a bit better point wise, but it's 83 songs for 6.5 hours

My band has been debating on if and when we want to tackle the endless setlists...RB1 would be pretty easy for us on Expert, but RB2 has "Visions," which we simply cannot finish. That and the fact that it takes 6.5 hours...well, we're just not that dedicated, I guess.

I can ocassionally convince my wife to sing, but not for 4.5 hours. so rock band 1 the best I'll get is medium for the endlist setlist.

I did rock band 2 endless with just medium guitar or bass (I forget) to make sure i didn't fail so I could get bladder of steel. I'm thinking about making a run at expert vocals on it if I can make I through rb1 expert vocal solo tour.

what people don't realize is that you don't have to be a good singer in real life...

the game is all about pitch...and it's not about getting 100% on songs (for us achievement freaks), but rather passing the songs and moving on

I wil ltry to stick to a schedule of launching on tuesday night meaning you start scoring on a wednesday. I am on for like 20 more minutes and 2 people are still yet to register. So they may miss out this time around else the schedule will fail at the first hurdle =(. If the 5 days starts wednesday then it also incorporates the weekend which I think works quite well?

Yay! 360voice finally updated all my old games...now it shows all 82 games instead of a measly 16 (however, i ranked down from 'gaming god (90+% completition)' to gaming jedi (75-90% completition) ... but that's not the problem as the badge doesn't seem to show up anywhere anyways)

Yeah, about 90% of the achievements I have left are the SS ones. I think when I played it before I didn't even try for those. Somehow, I got the online achievement when I first played it, thankfully. I imagine I'll manage several of the SS achievements no problem, but if I get stuck on a few, I'll let you know.

These weekly challenges are a good thing for me, even if I don't win. It helps me balance out how/why I play games - for so long I've avoided playing new games because I didn't want my completion percentage to suffer; now I can balance it out and play new games with the intention of finishing them (something that I didn't bother doing for a long time).

Not as of now. Gotta finish up Madden '07 - my friend probably has some other easy 1K games that he'd let me borrow, provided he hasn't sold them on ebay yet - but he was loathe to part with Terminator, so I don't really feel like begging him for another one. He's a "give and get" kind of person, and since he already owns 99% of the games that I own, I don't have anything to trade. I'd consider checking out a video store, but every time I stop at the local places, they have two 360 games in: Endwar and one that I already own. ;)

There are still plenty of easy games out there for me, but the selection becomes less interesting the higher your GS goes.

Well, it's 50/50, half the people I know breezed through as quick as I did, half the people have troubles. When you get to the end, you have to play as Sweden vs Brazil, 2-4 down with 5 mins to go, and win the game. All you have to do is take it down the wings (the sides of the field for you Americans), cross and header the goals. The one scenario that took me a few tries was Scotland vs Holland, where you have to win 4-1 or something silly. Scotland are slow, which is what makes it a little tricky. At least with Sweden Ibrahimovic can score headers like the beast he is. :D

Dave, I've cruised through every normal game of FIFA...but these challenges, they're f'n stupid and crazy...I even edited the other teams defense to be reserve forwards...and yet they still have ESP like anticipation on all my passes.

FTR, I played soccer (aka football) for 20+ years...I know the game, I watch UEFA games and I have tickets to a US friendly match next month...I'm not your typical american when it comes to soccer

I am STILL struggling with a few of the SS achievements on Madden '07...I simply CANNOT get 7 forced fumbles or 20/25 sacks (whichever it is) in a single season. I've tried Strong Safety, Cornerback, even LOLB & ROLB...none of them can get it done! Even if I actually play the games with Offsides turned off, the quarterback never drops the ball when I sack him, and most of the time it doesn't even count as a sack!!! Heeeelp!

the 7 FF is probably the toughest...the forced camera angles even make sacks kinda tough...
just try and use the hit stick as much as possible...play the longest possible game and try to get 2-3 FF in the game...then save, sim the next game, check the stats, if there is a FF, save and repeat...no FF, load the previous save and repeat

Actuary.. I'm not sure how else to advise you.. Did you try going down the wings like I suggested? On FIFA I usually predominately play through the middle, as heading is my one and only weakness on FIFA, but on this one for some reason crossing works wonders.

You know what dude? I've kept my mouth shut because I know that "arguing on the internet" is pointless among other things, but you really are full of yourself. Great, you have a really high completion percentage, and you're scoring about 2000 points in the average week. Does that make you better than anyone else? Not in my book. More dedicated, maybe...maybe someone with no social life, or maybe you have no other responsibilities. Whatever the case, your gamerscore & completion percentage don't get you jack sh!t, and constantly pointing out how awesome you are just makes you sound like a jerk. Nobody likes a jerk.

I realize that even though Jack is the "admin" of the competitions, he can't really say what people should or should not play, but what game it is shouldn't matter - what matters is how much you play. When you spend an entire day playing video games because you "work from home," that's not casual. People who work 40+ hours per week AWAY from their Xbox, or go to school, and then come home to various responsibilities BEFORE they can take a break and play for a bit - that's casual. Merriam-Webster:

Casual - feeling or showing little concern; nonchalant; lacking a high degree of interest or devotion; done without serious intent or commitment.

We all know you're a completionist. We all know you work from home sometimes, and can play games while you're "working." I doubt that many of us have that luxury. We all know that you have a ton of easy games to complete, and they're lined up one after another in your GF queue. We've heard you say these things more than once, and they start to sound like excuses, especially when you make posts during the challenges that say (and I quote) "Here comes the beat down" or "check out my newest 1K beotches." Easy enough to say, "oh, I didn't mean it like that" AFTER the fact, but no one likes being called a "beotch" or getting "beat down" week after week with little chance of winning.

I've said my piece. I don't care what you think about my opinion or what you have to say in response. I'm not dropping out of the challenges, because it gives me some incentive to play when I'd probably be doing nothing. I'm not telling you to drop out, either. But believe me, I think Fibsey echoed what many of us are thinking when he asked, "is that still casual gaming?" and I think more than a few of us are growing tired of your attitude.

1. I only stated my completion percentage here because it sounded as though fibsey was stating his as an excuse for spending time on old games to get the percentage up...it came off as though I was not trying to complete games but just getting lots of quick fast points. I stated my percentage just to let fibsey know that I do aim to complete games too.

2. I don't make the rules. my comment "based on the games I played" was meant to show that getting a 1000 on Fuzion Frenzy 2 = about 3 hours of gaming. That's casual, no matter how you knock it.

FTR, from the interview you might know that I'm married, have two dogs, and (it wasn't in the interview), but I share in more than my fair share of household responsibilities.

I donate platelets every 2-3 weeks (which is a 2 hour process) and often play poker with buddies and bowl once a week. I have hobbies and interests. But I work (when not from home) about an hour from where I live and other than the in-laws, I live about 3.5 hours from the rest of my family (where I grew up) and friends. My commute, when in the office, makes traditional after work activities a bit more difficult.

There's no arguing, no conflict. I've said my piece and I'm done. The end. As I mentioned, I'm in the challenges because they give me incentive to play...even though I normally can only put up a few points every week, it's better than a goose egg...although the emails I get from 360V saying "Guess what, YOU LOSE!" are a bit annoying. ;)

I used to think boosting was so lame, but now...hell, sometimes games are just sooooo bad you can't get through without it. Although, it still does bother me when boosters ruin the game for non-boosters...like when I was trying to play CoD:WaW for fun, and the rank boosters just ruined everything. Either wait until no one is playing the game anymore, or boost at 3AM. Don't screw over the people who actually enjoy playing the game.

I have a table but I have to upload it to photobucket etc. The plan was to upload it today but things got heated aha. I shall upload it later.

Also how do you think I feel? an email that I create it, an email to say its ready to launch, possibley another to say it has started(I can't remember) and then a final one saying I lose!

Although, it still does bother me when boosters ruin the game for non-boosters...like when I was trying to play CoD:WaW for fun, and the rank boosters just ruined everything. Either wait until no one is playing the game anymore, or boost at 3AM. Don't screw over the people who actually enjoy playing the game.

3am for you could be 5pm in the afternoon for someone... Developers shouldn't really put online cheeves in games if they have to be boosted so much..

Not your fault, Fibsey. Like I said, I kept my mouth shut for a long time. Probably would've been better if I hadn't said anything, but sometimes you just gotta vent. Anyway, If you keep bowing, Dave's going to come in here and tell you to "make yourself useful while you're down there..." ;)

Well how have I fudged that up? It should be even less because you scored outside of the contests as well =S

I'll take it down and redo it after this competition I think.

so the gain is right, correctly excluding gains outside the contests...you just grabbed the contest 2 end instead of the contest 2 start

Anyway, the "Challenge Scout" predicts that Dave will win the next one, and I'll come in second. I've found it to be inaccurate in the past... ;)

I'm trying to stagger my rentals between stuff I've already played and just need to finish (a lot), and reasonably easy games (quite a few), but it all depends on what's available. I should have the game by Wednesday...I've heard it's the easiest 1K next to Avatar...unless it glitches or there's a hurricane or tornado or the world explodes, I should be able to 1K it in about 15 minutes. It's also only available in the US, sorry. ;)

I really do hate region locked games! SO many american football games just don't release over here and it sucks =(

As for the first challenge, it was 7 days and dave had an internet issue etc so I didnt count it. All the 5 day ones are accounted for though.

backyard football is really easy, but did take a little getting used to
I played it right after playing madden and struggled at first

put your head in the mindset of a kid (one button does everything in the game) and you'll be ok

plus I think you can use two controllers to make it
even easier, although it's not needed

by all time win percentage

what it should do (better estimate) would be to look at your daily average during contests and multiple by the number of days in the contest

after that there should be a difficulty multiplier based on your current gamerscore...it's harder to score points once you've played a lot of games

maybe something like .8 if you're over 100k, .9 between 50k and 100k, under 50k means no adjustment

ideally these would be determined based on analysis of
historical contests

but I digress

Oh wow does that make me look bad. What is even sader is that I unlocked more points today, after the contest ended, than I did over the last month. Maybe I will find a drive to gain some points again this time around.

I'm delighted with how many points I've managed to gather, as only around 1000 of them (LEGO games) were easy. The other 900+ have been either bloody difficult, time-consuming or boring boosting. I'm still happy taking part in these contests, here's hoping they keep running well. :D

Very easy...easiest game since Avatar. Took me a bit longer than I thought because my first game I only set it for 5 min Qtrs. Next game I set it at 15 min and got the last few achievements within five minutes anyway.

Madden '08 is on its way for this week. Got 500G left in that one, so hopefully I'll be able to put that much up...
