I saw at GameStop there was a jet black faceplate, with limegreen writing on it. It was pretty cool and only five dollars too. A good pick for any of the collectors out there.

155.00$ american...I don't know what I'm thinking, but it's probably gonna get overbid, but I want them so badly....

yor going to get over bid
why?
coz the person who's selling it might have a second account(maybe more) and bid a higher bid to raise it up a bit .
so always bid on the last 30 seconds

check the feedback, i have over 3000+ positive i dont do shady eBay tactics like that. this is a legitimet ebay auction from a Gold Power Seller. the highest bidder will win.
But i think you are right the bidding will go way up from 155.00

800 buckaroonies....that's some expensive plastic.
Thats like one zero too many for what they should cost, and two zero's too many for what they cost to make.

EDIT: and besides, the E305 one is really the only cool one.

wow that is alot...
yes i agree they are exspensive. never said they were cheap, some of them are very scarce. only a few hundred in the world. it is all on peoples opinion of them i personaly like collecting them. i anjoy getting somethign that i knwo most people dont have. like the quake 4 faceplate only 500 in the world. i mean how many people can say they own one. or the ones that belong to an event such as the e305 or the x05, or the zero hour event plates, they kinda symbolize that mark in the xbox 360's life span. kinda cool to think you own an e305 that was given out the day microsoft unveild the 360. or the zero hour, was only given to people who were lucky enough to go to the release party.
so if you think its stupid to pay alot of money to buy a part of history, thats your opinion, but some people really like collecting things. weather its faceplates, or bugs, to each his own. just wanted to give every one a chance.

ALWAYS compare prices. One reseller quoted me $200 for a Quake 4 faceplate. When I responded it was too much for my wallet he tried justifying it by telling me they sell for up to $400. That same night I paid somethin' like $40 from another reseller, and there are Quake 4 faceplates on Ebay right now goin' for about $30.
That being said, $799 for all 8 is a LITTLE on the high side, but fairly close to what these faceplates are going for. A quick examination of faceplates sold in the past 2 weeks on Ebay reveals these numbers:

E3 faceplates: From $225 up to $305 each. As the auction states, there were 5,000 of these puppies made. Higher numbers sell for less, generally (I have a signed one that is #53 of 5,000).

X05 plates: From $148 to $210 each. These are rare-only a few have sold in the past two weeks.

Zero Hour: From $59 to $102, with many in the mid-$60 range.

Quake 4: From $30 to $61, with most in the $30s. In the past few days, an unusually large number of these from a Canadian reseller have shown up with a Buy It Now of $29.95. This seems pretty low, but the sudden influx of these plates makes me wonder if some 360 plates are being counterfeited-It's bound to happen eventually, unfortunately. Besides, you can never trust a Canadian! (that was especially for you, Crono!) I have zero evidence to suspect these particular plates are counterfeit, other than the sudden appearance of a bunch of very rare plates from the same reseller at a low price.

PGR3 plates-from $95 to $116, with several bid up over $130 but not meeting reserve. Of the eight plates Rhino is offering, this one and X05 are in the shortest supply.

Full Auto: From $2.25 up to a mind-boggling $33. The average is $10-$15.

The Outfit: From $3 to $17

COD2: From $18 to $63

If you add them all together, the minimum selling price adds up to about $580 and the maximum adds up to about $907-and then each auction will have highly variable shipping rates. So, yes-$799 IS a lot of smackers, but if you are into paying high prices for pieces of plastic (Something I dabble in, I confess), you could do much worse than Rhino's auction. It is a quick way to get some uber-rare (and some uncommon) plates in one large haul. Providing that a rash of well-produced counterfeit faceplates don't appear (and I strongly believe that Rhino would NEVER sell a fake plate) these early limited production 360 faceplates will probably appreciate in value. Or, maybe not.

I love the variety of pics....not too into the faceplate fad yet, I'd rather spend cash like that on a rare pair of kicks, but that's just me..I'm diggin that collection tho, I wouldn't mind purchasing 1-2 for the simple fact that I'm a nut for things that have some sort of historical mark....this is definitely off-topic, but, I don't see any price being too much when ur really interested in something or the fact that something is so rare...I paid $450.00 for a 1 of 1 pair of Jordans that NO ONE ELSE IN THIS WHOLE UNIVERSE HAS AN OFFICIAL PAIR OF....I would post a pic, but that's up to any and everyone who reads this, I don't think too many peeps here give a rats keister about shoes, but the fact of the matter is you can't put too much of a price on rarity, because historical events such as the launch of THIS particular console, only tend to happen ONCE and ONCE only....much props for being so diligent in your collection hunt Rhino and to any and everyone else who thinks he's outta line for any reason, stop hatin, because if you had somethin rare for sell, you'd probably want an arm and a leg or two for it..

****Just posted pics of those kicks in the off topic section if anyones interested...

Oh, you are welcome. To a bunch of the forum members, the prices seem perfectly whacked, but they should remember that people DO pay a premium for rare collectables. If they think $250+ for an E3 piece of plastic, how about a single 1-cent piece getting almost $4,000? http://cgi.ebay.com/1909-S-VDB-PCGS-CERTIFIED-MS-64RD_W0QQitemZ8394352998QQcategoryZ39456QQrdZ1QQcm dZViewItem Collectable plates, bells, spoons, stamps-People love collecting crap. I know-I'm a person, and I collect crap! Sometime in April, I'll probably pick up an X05 or Launch faceplate if I can find one for less than $125 or a Japanese release "Sun" faceplate for less than $30-35 shipped (with patience and an agreeable Mrs Bomb, I stand a fair chance of success).

Hooray for cool, collectable, overpriced plastic!

ONLY 24 HOURS LEFT WHO WILL WIN ? ? ?

For the most part, this forum appears to be inhabited with a demographic that is 95% male and 85% under the age of 19. Most kids under 19 year old haven't yet started their infatuations with expensive collectibles, with an exception for some comics, trading cards/baseball cards/sports memorabilia. The majority of faceplate collector's demographic is going to be male, but older between ages 29-40. This group has still a strong affinity for gaming, but also has their own large disposable income that can be frittered away on collectibles.

There are some nice kids on this forum, but I highly doubt that many would be inclined to collect all the uber rare faceplates, and actually be willing to spend the funds required to assemble such a collection. When you are young, games are great, but so is the opposite sex and dating is very expensive.

I agree with endy that the winner of the auction will not be from these forums. I would guess 2old2play.com's forums may have a poster/lurker that could win your auction, as those are more peeps are in the demographics that match the market for your auction.

People rush messages and it's annoying. Few cannot even spell and of those who can, few people use both capitalization and punctuation. I can deal with the lack of capitals but without punctuation, it's just a jumble of words and things come out wrong. That should be a rule.

my personal way of typing on message boards and informal emails is to not use capitals, and also i wont use apostrophes. commas, periods and fewer fragments are a must though. for me its the easiest way to type fast and have people understand.
