View Full Version : Is Single Better Than Taken?

There's pluses and minuses o both, but it seems to me that relationships complicate every single thing you do. I mean, a girl left me for this one guy that had just dumped this girl. I REALLY liked that girl. i was crushed. When your not in a relationsship, theres no risk of somthing bad like that happening, so in theroy, its better to be single. Right?

I'm married to my guitars. Women are just toys for the weekend. Relationships restrict too much of my freedom. It's better to be single if that 's what suits you. Not me or anyone has the right to tell you if your better off. Best of luck on this journey we all call life.

I like being single but being single is a love/hate relationship with yourself! There are a bunch of good and bad things about each but single is probably best, and here's why:

1. You aren't tied down or obligated to do anything. Not to mention that Valentine's Day isn't important if you aren't dating!
2. Flirting! w00t.
3. There's no maintenence if you aren't dating anybody! No boring movies to see, no long talks on the phone if you have nothing to talk about, etc.

Single is good only if you have a lot of 'one-nighters'. Otherwise I don't see the point.

Single is definitely cheaper. Taken is basically having someone pull the plug on your bank account and watching all the money drain away lol

yeah i would prefer being single at the moment anyway, plenty of time to be in a relationship down the line, i'm loving the freedom to come and go as i please and do my own thing

I don't know, if you find a special girl life can be great.

Drawbacks of being single is you get lonely, you want someone to spend those lonely nights with.
Also you have dreams, and when you wake up- you wished it was reality.

Its nice to have someone to care for, and to be cared back.

I'm not being nasty here but its like a dog- the freedom of no dog walks is fun, and nobody to pester you.

But when you see someone else with a dog, you are jealous of their dog and wish you had that company, that friend.

Grrr I can't explain too well.

Yeah, you get the privelege of having a girlfriend but you have responsibilities as well...I, not by choice, am single right now, though I'm sure I could get a girlfriend if I tried, but I am still overcoming self esteem issues...I recovered from obesity about 6 months ago.

I've been taken for over a year now, and I still don't know which is better. I mean, I have true feelings for my girlfriend, but I do miss the opportunities and privilages of being single. We've worked things out so that it isn't the typical buy-me-expensive-crap-and-talk-for-10-hours-on-the-phone-about-how-your-heel-broke relationship. It's very laid back.

Dude, just having a girlfreind sucks, but being in love is awesome... Im not talking about just saying "I love you" Im talking about deeply carring for that person. But if you fall in love your taking a big chance of getting heart broken... you just have to be careful and not get into anything you wont be able to recover from if it go's down in flames....

also Im listening to emo music so it might be the music talking

I recently had the displeasure of a broken heart... 2 years with the guy, then he lost interest. :/ Mind you, I loved this guy like crazy.

This happened 2 months ago, and I'm still not over it... I'm slowly recovering though.

My girls great, as long as she's one that you can have a relativeley intelligent conversation with from time to time, it's great. But, if it's her time of the month (you know what i mean), keep your distance.

Well i've only come out of a very serious relationship a couple of months ago and i have to say... i still feel like we're together so i yet haven't got the freedom that i used to have when we were together.

Single - really good times, can have a laugh with loadsa people and there are no moral downsides to it (most the time) and it's more of a fool about thing

Relationship - well .... this is hard, cos nearer the end of mine all we did was argue over petty things, but before hand it was like one of those relationships that like sort of everything didn't matter once together. like when you have something like that then i really like relationships (and when the sex life is good (and rather thrilling :-P)

it just depends on the age, what kinda person you are, etc imo

im spending pretty much the same amount of money in a relationship, as i was when i was single. we dont live in the 50s anymore - guys arent expected to pay for everything.

Slightly off-topic but here goes... Why do you guys keep saying that it costs more to be in a relationship? Even when I was a teenager I had my Girl paying for me, get your game on if you wanna call yourself "pimps and players".

Now that I have been in a 5 year relationship we share everything equally, the way it should be. Women want equal treatment, give it to them...

You don't have to go to pay stuff all the time either. A lot of the time it is more fun to go do something cheap/free.
