Endless mode progress

I'm just curious what everyone's progress on Endless mode is. I've been working on it off and on since I downloaded the game in February. Right now I'm up to level 124, rank 1081, 2113:46 time, 11,933,050 points. I'm trying to do 2-3 levels per day. My goal is to reach 280 before my birthday (a little over 3 months). I'd also like to be one of the first 100 to "complete" Endless mode (68 on the leaderboards have). I think I'm on track right now to finish before the end of the year.

My sister, my friends and I spent what felt like hundreds of hours on this. I was at level 174. Then one day I popped in a movie DVD while I was in the game by mistake (forgot that I was still in the game while the TV was off) . This confused it and I lost all of my progress.

I got through the first 30 or so level pretty quickly (I think over 2 days in like 4 hours or so) but now they are taking about a half hour each. At first I thought I could wrap this up in a few weeks, now I know it won't be done for several more months! It sucks that the point requirements to get to the next level jump for each level completed. I thought endless just referred to the fact that the levels never end - now it just seems endless refers to how long it takes just to get to 280! The main reason I want the 280 is I got all of the other mode achievements so need to complete this to unlock the last mode (will get 2 of the 5 remaining achievements getting to level 280). I also figure I will easily get the 10,000 power gems and should get close to the 1,000 hyper cubes during endless mode as well. Then I just need to complete the last mode for the full 200 gamerscore.

I don't have the classic and action mode achievements yet and I'm finding that I get more power gems and hyper cubes going for those than I do in endless mode. Dunno why but there's a noticeable increase in them when I play the regular modes.

So, I saw this thread and it reminded me that last night, I was going to give Be***eled 2 another shot. I like the game, but I have so many others I like more so I kinda forget about it sometimes, but now and then I remember it and have a great hour or two with it.

No more, it seems, as when I booted up the game...my savefile had just vanished. Rebooted both game and machine several times and still nothing. Checked other PopCap games and they had also lost their saves. What the hell? :(

I just lost 110 levels last night-- I played at a friends house, his internet connection was shoddy and it disconnected me from live. Next time I logged on all my Cubes and Hypercubes were still there, but my infinity mode game was back at level one. We just tried all kinds of stuff to get it back but, nothing.

I'm going to do some testing to see what made it happen. I think it had something to do with me going offline and having just had my console repaired.

Hm, starting to think that the leaderboard times for Endless mode are screwed up somehow. There's just no way I played about four hours of it today, I only played for about two...but I've gone up like 250 minutes according to the leaderboard. That would actually be awesome if there's some inflation glitch going on, it'd shave even more time off my total.

I can only be sorry for what happened. But I'm sure you'll come to realize, just like I did, that Be***eled 2 achievements are like a disease... You just become obsessed with them when they are really not that worth it. I was playing the game as much as I could to get those achievements, unplugging my Xbox from the router to make sure I wouldn't be disconnected while playing endless mode, but then, my girlfriend came into the room one day and said: "Again? Don't you have more interesting games to play?". And she was damn right! Since then, I've playing Be***eled only when doing stationary bike since it's about the only game I have that requires no attention, just long and boring hours... It goes well with stationary bike... ;-)

When you look at the 3727 minutes you spent playing the game, just think about all you could have done with this time and then, say to yourself: I spent all this time color-matching ***els... That should be some kind of a cure for this stupid game...

The cure is to complete the game. I will not lie, I basically was addicted to it, playing up to 10 hours a day at my peak. Now I feel so good to know I don't have to come home from work, wake up, etc and play this game! I will continue to play it from time to time and climb the leaderboard, currently on level 283.

Haha, I totally see what you mean and I agree. The thing is, though, once I send off my 360 for repairs (damn DVD drive broke down), I'm gonna get right back in the saddle. If it was a challenge before, it's a damn vendetta now. I'm not going to let this stupid color-matching game get the best of me, god damn it! :lol:

That's funny, though, I've thought about the exact same thing with the stationary bike. I just don't have the bike yet, but I'm strongly considering purchasing one to get some exercise in while I play silly little games like this one and/or listen to podcasts. It'd be a pretty sweet setup, I'd say.

I got Endless mode achievement yesterday. Currently on level 281 but may try to get it up to 300...nice round number!

I just completed endless on 6/10/07!!! =) Luckily I had my save backed up because multimode unlocked and endless didn't. Both unlocked in-game but only got the achievement for multimode =( I had to reload the save in order for endless to unlock.

On the topic of Endless Mode progress, I ended at 286 and will never get any further. Reason being, I bought a 360 elite and the saves are console locked so I'm back at 0 points. No desire to get back up there. ;D

I'm on level 263. This is my second playthough. I was on level 261 before and I lost my internet connection which caused the game to glitch and reset the score. After that I bought a UPS, a new router, and the XPort device so I could backup my saves.

After 4 years of playing this game, I can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel!
