Koushun Takami's Battle Royale novel.. i read around 1 or 2 chapters per day (helps make it last) but sometimes i'm tempted to read on as i become so drawn into it.

I'm currently on chapter 30 - page 208 of 616 pages.. so, not too far to go then eh

Is the graphic novel good?

well there is a graphic novel of BR, but there's also a novel (the one i was refering to), i hope you were refering to me though..

it certainly gives you more of a background into the characters, but the film has obviously changed some things from the novel (obviously to give the audience a taste of the same thing with a spinkle of something new).

Such as..

- Kiriyama and Kawada are actually on the bus at the start..
- Noriko is sitting next to Kawada and not Megumi (she's not actually close friends with megumi in the novel)
- The gang that Kiriyama kills on the beach in the film are actually part of the 'Kiriyama family' in the novel
- Kuninobu is shot in the novel rather than his necklace exploding
- Noriko is shot in the leg in the novel, rather than the arm..
- The fact that Kiriyama actually talks in the novel..

I could go on.. but yeah, the novel is great if you enjoyed the movie as it tells you scenes in the novel that you didn't see (but occured) in the movie. It also gives each character a meaning of exsistance in the novel as the majority of characters are explained in-depth including their past, even the characters who only lasted 2 minutes in the film have an in-depth insight in the novel!
The killing order is also the same though and who killed who, so there's no suprises there.. although i think Kiriyama kills someone in the novel who he doesn't in the movie.

So, i hope you were refering to me when you asked if the novel is good or if you were refering to the halo novel LoL. Oh well, at least i explained a taste of what to expect from the novel to those who haven't read it if that was the case..

I'll answer for him. Just as awesome as the rest of them. Can't wait for the Ghosts of Onyx. I am currently reading Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy.

I read that a couple of years ago. It's a brilliant book.
