Is it a LCD monitor, or a CRT monitor?

Well, LCD provides a lot better picture I think then a CRT monitor. Also, LCD provides some higher resolution settings that CRT does not have, unless you spend a lot of money. PLus, LCD looks a lot better overall, and is a hell of a lot lighter.

Anyway, it depends on your monitor and what your monitor's settings will allow. Some LCD monitors can go all the way up to like 1680x1200 or something like that. Generally speaking, the higher resolution setting means a better, crisper picture.

i got the VGA HD cables from Xbox 360 and it's amazing, but i mean yeah i have mine hooked up to a 19" LCD Dell Monitor and it's pretty huge, and i actually thought it would be small, but it's not. but what i figure out to get the sound is that you need to have either a stereo, or have a surround sound system around it, or next to it, because the cable is kinda short from the monitor to the audio. but best buy told me that if i wanted to acutally use my computer speakers i needed to get a new sound card with a reciever to have my 5.1 surround sound speakers work, but that would cost me an extra 200 so i said eff that and went into my gameroom took the stereo down and brought it into my room, and now it's amazingly good!!!! but i need to kinda of mess around with the resolution because it's kinda choppy still and i need it a bit more smoother

In the dashboard the resolution can run at 1280x1024. But the games will run at 720p (1280 x 720)

i dont think lcd has a better picture than a crt, crt remain the best type of tv on the market..especially if its high def.

Well, I for one thinks that LCD looks a lot better then CRT. I have an NEC CRT 17" monitor and I now have an NEC LCD 17" monitor, and both set to the same resolution, the LCD looks a hell of a lot better then the CRT does.

I was however, unaware that the 360 had a set resolution barrier. I figured if you are hooking the 360 up to a monitor, it would go by the monitors resolution setting. Hence, a higher resolution setting on the monitor should makethe 360 look even better, as long as you don't go over the max resolution setting of the 360 itself. Kind of like a video card for the PC. If the card can only handle 1700x1280 or whatever, then you wouldn't set the screen to 1800x1400 or whatever. I think you all know what I am saying, so I don't feel like I have to be that technical..
