no the reason they do patches is so you dont glitch like that. before you download the update you can decline, but will never be able to get online (in that game) without it.

I dont want to go online with "xtreme 2", so I dont want this §$§% patch. But now I get it, because I thought I had "gears of war" in my xbox. grrrr

Crap, I think the sequence to clear your cache is
XX LB RB XX
or something like that. You have to go do that in the memory.

It pretty much clears all of the updates off of your HDD and/or Memory Unit.

An undocumented feature in the latest Xbox360 dashbaord update has surfaced -- a cache clear. In order to perform this "maintenance" follow the instructions below. (Thanks, Kakarotto)
Go to the system blade and then memory. Press Y on either the HDD or a MU and then press X,X,Left Bumper, Right Bumper, X,X. Once you do this a blade will pop up saying: This will perform maintenance on your Xbox 360 storage devices. Do you want to continue? Pick yes or no.
It doesnt say you will lose them. [taken from the article posted by secrect.]

Theoretically, you will not lose your gamesaves. You can recover them back off of Live anyway if it does mess up. Your DLC can be redownloaded, but I don't think it deletes that stuff.

Oh, but you can! The genius of Live my friend! I don't know to what extent it works, but it did with the A360P Crew account we used to have. If you deleted the account and recovered it, you would download all of the saves along with the account.

Ok, then explain to me how I got the save data from the A360P account? I recovered the account, and all the levels in Cloning Clyde were unlocked... That didn't just magically happen somehow.

Arcade game saves aren't saved to your HDD or memory card like retail games are (except some games like Pacman, DigDug, Galaga, etc. The ones where you can choose your level once youve completed it). So, most arcade games, including cloning clyde, are saved to your profile because they're technically downloaded content.
You should of said it was an arcade game or we wouldn't of had this argument!

Ah, I didn't think about that. I guess that is why, because they are one in the same. Makes perfect sense now.
