Did anyone ever play the PS1 version.

They made Alone in the Dark for the PS1, I played it back in the day and might actualy still have it. I can't reemember how the story went but it was pretty good back then. I look for it and see if I can find out what it was about.

That is definitely not the original. The original Alone in the Dark was for the PC and came out in 1992. Two years before the PS1 was even released. I loved that game when I was a kid. It was one of the first survival horror games ever made and was the first game to use 3-D characters.

You are right and I am wrong, I actualy looked it up and the very first was a PC game based on H.P lovecraft books. It was a few years later when they brought out Alone int he dark for the PS1. The title was alone in the dark, A new nightmare. I was never a PC gameing fan and did not know of the original PC game but when they brough it out for the PS1 and other console systems they made alot of changes to the game. I looked it up to make sure I wasn't mistaken again.

That was actually the forth one as there were 3 on the PC before that. This games the 5th Alone in the Dark.

I remember playing the original on PC. Took me a while to get used to the fixed camera!

It had great atmosphere and creepy sound effects.
