To win 5 games of 8ball in a row...have a 2nd controller plugged in. Have the number 2 guy break and have intentionally sink the 8 ball. YOU WILL WIN WITHOUT EVER LOSING A TURN... :D

Can't see why not, and ones where they can't lose by potting a ball you just have to make them foul on each shot.

Rhino, I can confirm the technique works for the 50 wins, no loose turn achievement. Clocked it before I went to work earlier.

I still can't seem to unlock this acheivement, I have around 50 wins in 8-ball and I'm sure I've won 5 in a row a few times over, still no acievement. What am I doing wrong? possible glitch?

Remember that if you fail on sinking the 8-ball on the break (my god that sounds wrong), then just quit the session and try again, you wont lose your streak.. :)

You have to have the 2nd player choose and start the game. then player2 will have first shot.

Also, if the second player breaks, but dosen't get the 8-ball in, you can have them sink it on the next turn and it'll still work.

yeah... how do you get 2 people to play locally?

i have both controllers matched up on the 'ring of light', but can never get it started. always play a cpu opponent.
there must be something really dumb i'm not doing... please explain step by step.

Hey I can get any of the winning streak achievements to unlock. I won at least 10 of each 8 and 9 ball in a row by winning properly against the computer at level 3 and the controller against my other xbox live account. Is there a glitch? I tried deleting the game off my hard disk and downloading it again but still no joy! Anybody else know a solution to this?

Ok, I'll answer my own question, its a case of semantics. I have been confused by thing that it was "Win 5 games in a row". which is not actually the case. The key word is 'turn', without losing a turn.

DO NOT LET THE COMPUTER HAVE A 'TURN'. Basically in 9 ball you have to "win off the break" without letting the computer have a turn to play. Best thing to do is try to win by sinking the 9ball off the break or by comboing it asarp.

When using the 2nd controller technique, start the game by using the second controller then press start to sign in with the 1st controller (the xbox live account you want to have earn the achievement.) Have the second controller intentionally loose the game on the first turn. You cannot sink the black off the break, if this happens, press start and exit the game before the turn changes to you player 1 account. If the second player sinks the black on the break, the triangle is reset and player 1 will break again.

To lose the game on the first turn you may need to play a few 'proper shots' in order for you to illegally pocket the black ball. If you mess up, immediately press start and exit before the turn changes over. THis is important when trying to do the ultimate hustler one where you need to shark 50 games without losing a turn.

Let me get this right....

"Player 2" starts off and then downs the cueball. Then I play and even if I don't get a 7-ball break and the 8-ball, as long as "Player " then pots the cueball again I can still win? ie I don't lose my turn if the other player sinks the cueball?

That'll the make 8-ball achievement sooooo easy...! Well, easier anyways...!

Can anyone confirm the 8-ball shark technique? Do you have to still get an 8-ball streak, or does the other player sinking the cue ball mean you don't lose the turn???

Forget about the second controller thing - use the following tips on standard issue single player:

1. Break off without moving the cue ball, 100% power, VERY slight top spin and 10-13% angle/elevation.
2. This usually gets you at least 1 ball down off the break and up to 4 if you're lucky.
3. Sometimes, it's easier to nominate the ball set that have more to pot after the break, as they may be in better positions.
4. It shouldn't take you more than 2 hours at most to get this achievement. You just have to keep your cool when you get to the 8-ball.
5. I am sure that even if you pot the cue ball after you pot the 8-ball,it still counts as you've potted all balls without losing your turn. I unexpectedly got the achievement 1 game early after doing this....

It's weird because I got the achievement that you have to do 5 consecutive "shark" games before it gave me the 8-ball shark achievement after trying this. Oh well, it still worked out for me. Thank you so much!

I just got them a few days ago as well, so I know it works. Also, the 200 games played achievement is actually 200 games won. I learned that the hard way!

You do not need a second console (who can afford two?). Simply set the game up for 8-ball on multiplayer. Have the second player break and sink the 8 ball, the first player wins. It may take a few tries, but you can win five games easily in 15-20 minutes. If nothing falls on the break or the second player scratches, simply press start and quit the game, you will not lose a turn. This was my last achievement and I got it last night. :)

i only got the shark hustler achievement by doing this. If i exit the menu 'after' it has come up as my turn does this not count?

Although it can't make a difference as the hustler achievement is 5 'consecutive' games as well

Here is what I did. Sign in with a second profile as well as the one you want the achievement on. Break with the second profile and sink any ball. Then try to sink the 8 ball. There will be a lot of times where the 8 ball isn't near a pocket, on these breaks I would just boost my shot power to 100% and hit the 8 ball or some balls near the 8 and pray. If you sink the 8 ball, your main profile wins the game. If you don't sink the 8 ball quit with the second profile and try again. I did this and it is much, much easier than trying to sink the 8 ball on the break.
