Okay, well since the day of getting the Xbox 360 console, I have had the problem of my console telling me to put my xbox 360 games in a xbox 360 console (My thought: "WTF I JUST DID"). Anyways, it stopped for a while but now it is starting to act up again. I tried contacting Microsoft about it but of course I got their stupid automated message telling me to try to play my old Xbox games in my old xbox console, If I have one (My Thoughts:  "When in the hell did I ask about the old Xbox games"). Now, it will let me play sometimes, as you can tell by me having gamerscore, but not always. So I have some pressing questions: 1. Should I get this problem fixed. & 2. If I should, should I call them, or try emailing them again and see what happens or perhaps a new approach to revealing the problem. I would really like to know. Thanks for the time.

i would definitely contact them again, and dont stop until they tell you theyll fix it. it should still be under warranty so you should be good. dont settle for it working "somtimes".

Does it happen with any specific games or all of them? I ask because the only time that happened to me was when I rented NFS. I'd say 60% of the time I booted up the xbox with the game in it I would see that white screen. It didn't happen with any other game so I figure it was the disc.

It has happened about 3 times with G.R.A.W. but mostly Perfect Dark Zero. It might be the disc. Once I get a few more games, I will see if they work properly and if so then it is my PDZ disc.

Don't wait too long unless you bought the extended warranty. The regular warranty is only for 90 days.
I had this problem with PGR3 when I got my 360. I replaced the disc 3 times to no avail. If I were you, I'd try exchanging the discs, at least once. If it still happens, give MS a call again right away.

It is definitely the disc. I had the same problem with Oblivion. One day it booted it up thinking it was a DVD, then when the DVD functions kicked in, it realized it was video game, and that message popped up. I then put the disc in my brother's system and had the same problem. Upon closer inspection, there was a crease that went a quarter inch in from the inner circle of the disc that discolored a part of the readable area immediately on the inside. There was the problem.

If you call them, you would usually get transferred to some guy in India, that you wont understand much.

I used to get this error along with the error saying that a game is a DVD. Now my 360 is at MS getting replaced, but hopefully this isnt a sign of things to come

My first Xbox360 had the same problem. (im on my third as of this post)What is actually happening to your 360 is the fact that it isnt comunicating with the processors that are needed for games. Instead it is only seeing the DVD "brain". If you listen carefully, you will be able to hear the processor components rev up if it is working properly. When the "please insert this disc into an Xbox360 console" comes up you'll notice the revs aren't present. I also noticed the revs die down on some load screens when the thing seemed to be working properly.
Definately a problem that will need to be fixed. I believe that the batch of 360s that were made in February and on have this problem fixed as the revs sound completely different, at least from the last 2 I've had.
Good Luck.

You only get a warranty lasting 90 days?? Can anyone just give a warranty for whatever timeframe they desire or how does it work in the US? Here in Germany you're getting one year at least.
