Anyone having something intelligent to say about this game and its achievements? I came to get infos on what people thought of the game but so far, I'll I've read are people complaining that it's not released in their country, others bashing entire countries because of a moron from the said country, that there must be a catch because it's free and Microsoft is the big thief of the universe and so on... Relax people... Take a deep breath and think about this:

1- They give it for free, which also gives them the right to do whatever they want with it. It doesn't mean I understand why they don't release it to the rest of the world but they never made the promise of a free game every once in a while when you bought the console.
2- If you hate Microsoft so much, what are you doing with an Xbox? You should have bought some other console and sent your money to another company.
3- Categorizing whole hemispheres based on the not-very-bright comment of a single individual brings you as low, if not lower than the said individual... When you have friends around the world, it helps to refrain from doing that...

Ok, I'm done. Now you can bash Canada for what I've just said and show me the time I spent writing this was in vain...

Exactly.

It seems like all people do is rag on Microsoft because it's the cool thing to do. They made the 360 which is, imo, the best console of this gaming generation. Love it or leave it.

I actually love Xbox but Microsoft is money hungry and dosen't care as much for its customers as the other companys... Nothing against them but it was a huge supprise to see they surpassed that and offered a free game.

Actually, the XBOX division of MS cares for the customers pretty well, although different than one may expect. Of course they don't give you free stuff all the time, but they have to earn money as well - it doesn't matter how rich Billy the Gates is, a company has to earn money to make the stock owners happy. Remember that the hardware is still making Billy lose money (not that he'd notice).

- their quality assurance is pretty good, saving gamers from shelling out money for severely bugged games like Two Worlds. Sure, sometimes they miss stuff, but it's not that bad usually. There may be easy games, or kiddy games, but rarely really bad ones. I'd say that's related somehow.

- their community managers post alot on their blogs, providing information about upcoming releases and sometimes even background info. Major Nelson even records audio, sometimes video shows on a regular basis. Never saw some Nintendo guy do anything similar, or Sony for that matter. And for what it's worth, there are different managers for USA, EU and Germany, who all write independently.

- their firmware updates are very good, improving the already great X360 interface even more. Compare the Wii interface (slow, ugly, visibly patched together) against it... and compare what Nintendo improved, and what they didn't. While they easily could, they don't abandon their console's core, but improve it instead.

MS invested zero dollars in this game? I doubt it. Interns are not paid, sure, but they released it like any other XBLA game, including marketing. The people involved (webmaster, operations team, Major Nelson...) are paid for what they do. Also, the actual development was partially done by Carbonated Games - and these guys didn't work for free.
