While I actually don't think Halo 3 will be GOTY material, it doesn't even matter, since the following is just too huge. H3 could get 5/10's across the board, and it'd still win a bajillion awards. I say that not to flame Halo (meaning don't respond with 'ZOMG HALO R AWESUM'), but to point out that that is the only reason AC won't be GOTY. But it should be.

Alan Wake, Assassin's Creed, The Outsider are three games that as far as I know will be out in '08 and will rock.

Fable 2, if that gets GOTY I will have lost a significant amount of respect for wherever bestows upon it that title.

True, AC Really does look like GOTY Material. but its always the big Microsoft game titles that knock the other games back. Like Gears of War. it was rubbish, Still got a ton of awards.

I think the same is going to happen with Halo3. just because its so big. and its gonna over shadow all the other great games coming out. like AC.

Well for one it shows a September release date at work, even though they aren't reliable, they're usually ballpark. Number two, big blockbuster titles in general are not released in the first half of the year (Jan-Summer), they're best released during the Christmas rush. If they don't make the Christmas rush, I wouldn't expect to see it until Summer or Fall, which is way too far away.

Eh @ Fable 2. Fable wasn't all that great, although 2 looks better, I don't think it can even touch AC in terms of awesomeness. Bioshock I also think looks great, but I think it's going to be far too shallow to win GOTY. Watching the development of it, it seems that the concepts and all that are spot on, I'm really worried about the execution of the open endedness of it. I don't think it'll end up being GOTY material.

AC has nothing going against it. The story is phenomenal and never been done, the historical accuracy is spot on, the graphics are amazing, the FMVs are amazing, the gameplay is new and amazing.

AC is definately the goty...halo 3 has nuthin on it. every1 just wants it cuz halo 2 was so good but they havent changed anythin for halo 3. the graphics blow and the multiplayer is still gonna suck.

Assassins Creed has all the most chance of winning GOTY maybe even a better chance. Halo3 is so overhyped that if it is even slightly flawed it wont reach the ever so high standards of all of the Halo Fan boys. AC is expected to be a decent buyable game, it might just blow us all out of the water and leave H3 in the back splash. I am not even that excited for H3 I just want to play all these wonderful titles coming out.

Assassins Creed and Mass Effect in my view are better overall as they are true next gen games Halo 3 is just Halo 2 but with sharper graphics, dont get me wrong i like Halo 3 after playing the beta but Assassins Creed and Mass Effect are in a league of there own.

Assassin's Creed is going to be the best game this year as it comes out this november. I have seen all the trailers for this including the new one and it just looks absolutely amazing
