Oh no, not Sanke! Sanke, what will we do without you? :P

I wouldn't be too surprised if he dies in the game. I mean, look at him. And even if he doesn't die, are we going to see another game with him in the starring role set after it? Don't think so...
They can always replace him with a "clone" or something though, or have games set before MGS4...but still, I'm gonna be holding my breath for the whole time when playing the game, hoping that the poor guy doesn't keel over.

No, they CAN'T replace snake with a clone. All the others were dying once they were created. The "Snakes" were the only successful clones. The rest suffer from FoxDie. Apparently you never played a MGS game.

Wait, Kojima wanted to end @ MGS3?
But it was still too open.

Why would Hideo want to axe one of the best series' of all time so soon???
At least he decided to actually end the storyline. But some of us don't want it to end (like myself).

Agreeeeed!! I got a kick out of how in 3, if you said you like MG:SOL better than the 1st, you start with that Raiden mask on. And then you get to knock him out later, i liked that they incorporated Americas hatred for Raiden, because he went over really well in Japan.

Actually Snake Eater wasnt supposed to be the last one, it was just the last one that Hideo was going to personally write the story for. But as Trigga said, he got a lot of death threats.

Right, I've never played a MGS game, but I felt the need to talk about it anyway!

I've played MGS, MGS2, and MGS3. I know that 8 clones were created, and 6 of them supposedly died off. In MGS, they stated that Liquid and Solid were the only successful clones, but then what happened in MGS2? We got Solidus Snake.

But...how could the game do that? They said that there were only two living clones! They can't do that!

Oh wait, they can. They do that in games and movies all the time. We have seen four versions of "Snake" so far. So all I'm saying is that it's possible that more clones, or offspring, or whatever, pop up. It's *possible*.

So you didn't have to start a huge fan-boy lecture about the MGS universe-I don't want to debate this topic, I just meant it as a simple comment. I wouldn't even have bothered replying, but your stupid "LOL, apparently you've never played any game, I can tell this by one comment of yours, lol" bugged me. Have a nice day.

Alright, wasn't an attack. Just have always loved button masher fighting games. Plus I didn't love all the splinter cells. I mainly was addicted to chaos theory due to the two player. Though the 2 player was short I played it through a couple of times. The main reason I liked MOH was the multiplayer deathmatch. Reason I never got into MGS was because it never attracted my interest enough to ever play one. You gotta admit PS2 didn't really have anything on the XBox and I made a bad choice and was a huge PS fan for the longest time. That is until I finally played Halo. I don't think I will ever go back to PS now that I have tasted the excellent gaming system that is XBox 360. Don't see how you can say that Tekken sucked though, IMO it is way better than DOA. I am actually pretty good at DOA but would rather Tekken. ONce again just my opinion.

<Tollgatekeeper>:
I realize that they somehow tied in the President in MGS being Solidus Snake, another successful clone. And there's no way for them to have any kind of offspring, something they can chalk up to being clones. But the possibility of another clone (somehow) surviving and being off the radar? That I can't deny. They just might do that.
<Edit>: I'm no PS-fanboy. I just really love the MGS series. Personally, there's only two things keeping the PS3 alive now: It's a "more affordable" Blu-Ray DVD player, and it has MGS4.
Other than that, the 360 and MS dominate it in every aspect. If MS could buy out MGS4, have it re-designed for the 360, and made a Blu-Ray DVD drive, then Sony would be f***ed like an 8 year old boy in the neverland ranch).

I'm glad you've agreed that the clone thing is possible. And I take back the fan-boy comment, because you're right in that MGS4 is pretty much the only game so far that I'm looking forward to on the PS3, apart from Final Fantasy XIII.

And hey, remember at the end of MGS3, where...wait, how do I do spoilers in here? :?

SPOILER:

When Big Boss sleeps with Eva? Assuming they didn't use protection, Eva could have became pregnant, had children, and they would then be old enough to show up in MGS4, or other MGS games. That's another way for them to have another "Snake" appear. Especially since Solid Snake and Eva's offspring would be pretty much siblings.

END SPOILER

But I dunno. They could do a number of things, so it's no use discussing every possiblity.

Um yeah, I wouldn't get too upset about being "spoiled". If you hadn't heard about it here, then you would just have learned about it later on when you read a preview or any write-up about the game (they'd say something like "...in the trailer shown at E3, it appeared that Solid Snake might really die in this game").

He probably didn't think it mattered, because anyone who payed ANY attention to the game know it would happen.

Of course, you've seen Kojima plot-twists. Other than the switch the Raiden, I'd say they're pretty big.

Snake was going to shoot himself for a very good reason, whether he does or not adds to the excitement.

And Raiden looks extremely cool and awesome in this game, but I do however agree Solid Snake is still far cooler (Solid Snake-My favourite character)

Do we get to control others as well as Solid, or is it just him?

MGS: Solid Snake
MGS 2: Raiden
MGS 3: Big Boss

^For newcomers :D

Solidus is not their father and I would love to laugh at anyone daft enough to think this.
