Is there a strategy to completing the bonus rounds or is it pure luck?

Each one has its own strategy. I compare this game with chess, you need to see several moves ahead so you can see the definite consequences of your actions before they happen. Some are easier than others, I believe I have cleared 15 of them, not sure of the total number of them.
