I found an alternative method for getting the Vortex Generator Achievement.
Beat the game with Vixx to get your Supa Weapon maxed out..
Start a new game and play slowly through levels 1 and 2 to charge up your supa weapon.
When you get to level 3 DO NOT USE YOUR SUPA WEAPON... at least not at the beginning.
Instead start out by making columns of 3 of each color and DO NOT make any combos.
Also DO NOT allow any new rows of bricks to appear. To prevent new rows of bricks from falling: after each move or two do the reset glitch by pausing, quiting out to the menu and then reloading your game.
You should have enough bricks in the starting grid to make at least 1 combo with every color.
I say make columns of 3 because it becomes easy to keep track of how much you have of each color. Now you might have to stack some columns and this is ok as long as you don't don't make any combos.
once you have all of the colors in groups of 3 (the last group of each color will probably be less than 3) you can start making combos... if you only have 2 or 3 groups of a certain color make sure you destroy all of that color in a single combo (else you'll be left with a few stragglers and no easy way to get rid of them). If you have 4 groups of a certain color you can do 2 groups and another 2 groups.
Be careful in your planning and remember to keep doing the restart glitch to freeze time and prevent any new rows of bricks from falling.
if all goes well you should be able to clear 100% of the bricks in the starting grid before a new row falls.
If you accidentally let a row fall IMMEDIALY pause the game and do the restart glitch. there is a split second buffer and if you were fast enough when you restart it will undo the row fall.
The instant you make your last combo to clear the screen use a bumper button to zap to one side of the screen and fire your Supa weapon, moving across the screen quickly blasting every brick from one side to the other, and as soon as you clear row #2 hit the bumper again and keep going clearing screen after screen as the rows fall.
If your supa weapon is maxed out and you did it quickly without missing any bricks you should be able to clear 4-5 screens using your supa weapon with time to spare.
I tried just using my supa weapon without clearing the starting grid first and I would constantly get 4 and a half screens cleared... I tried it maybe 15 times before I decided to use the restart glitch first. using the restart glitch first makes using the supa weapon a whole lot easier because you're only clearing 1 row at a time (instead of clearing 6 rows at the start).
After trying 15 times just using my supa weapon I tried using the restart glitch to clear the screen 1 time before using the supa weapon and I got it 2 tries... and the only reason it took 2 was because I screwed up with the combos when I was trying the first screen clear.
using this method you should be able to get 6 or 7 screen clears as opposed to 4 or 5 with the supa weapon alone.
Hopefully this helps someone else get this achievement as well.
