Anyone know how to unlock any of the color schemes for the aircraft? The default color is rather boring, I hate looking at grey all the time.

I unlocked the second color scheme for all aircrafts after finishing the campaign on normal. Dunno yet how to unlock the third.

I believe you can unlock the 3rd color schemes by defeating the named opponents in SP. I just downed a Tornado GR.4, call sign "DRAKON" and unlocked a very nice tiger stripe camo. (Mission 3)

Are the color schemes for all the planes you own or just that aircraft that you shot down? For instance the Tornado is the only craft with the tiger stripe?

just for the aircraft you shot down. Another example would be the A-10 Warthog, it has a white/green military camo

Where do you find these named aircraft?

The named aircraft are around in most of the later missions; they are the really annoying enemy planes that can do almost 180 degree turns instantly and cause your hud to be filled with missile alerts, doge almost all your missiles and take a **** load of damage. They usually appear as part of the STRIGAN (spelling) squadron that you run from in the first mission. When they appear someone will tell you, like your wingman saying "Theres that Grim Reaper (or something I forget) symbol from the guys that invaded Gracemaria".

Wow that's weird, I killed quite a few of the Strigan squadron, like 10 or more of them and I was never rewarded any color schemes...weird.
*EDIT* I just answered my own question about the difficulty. I found the planes on expert finally. Does anyone know where the plane appears on the first mission?

destroy all the targets in under 120 seconds, and the 1st Ace Pegas will appear. Be warned he's probably the hardest ace to fight, with some nasty F-22 skills

so expert and above and you have to kill everyone in under 120 seconds?

not everyone, just the enemies marked with the target. not too bad with the CFA-44.
IIRC, there will be 15 total targets to destroy. after you destroy the initial group, 4 more will pop up (F-18's) and then 4 more (Rafaels)

that's not hard then. i just need to unlock the cfa-44...and then play it on expert. what SP weapons does the cfa-44 sport?

on SP campaign you get a really nasty missile system. 1 of these (you get 18 on normal+) tracks 12 targets at roughly 30000+ range. They're very accurate and make quick work of both air AND ground targets. You can't use these in multiplay though.
you also get a rail gun, with unlimited range and pretty much instantaneous travel time. I think you get 24 shots, but that's enough to destroy anything in one go. You do get this in multiplay.
lastly you get a missile jamming system which i've yet to try.
