Gone through the game twice now and those are the same and only four that I have so far.

Bronze Ace - Awarded for Destroying 300 enemies.
Silver Ace - Awarded for Destroying 1500 enemies.
Gold Ace - Awarded for Destroying 3000 enemies.
Bronze Marksman - Awarded for destroying 10 enemy aircraft with the machine gun.
Silver Marksman - Awarded for destroying 50 enemy aircraft with the machine gun.
Gold Marksman - Awarded for destroying xxx enemy aircraft with the machine gun.
Needle's Eye - Awarded for performing 10 consecutive landings amidst the heat of battle.
Night Owl - Awarded for clearing Campaign Mode using only Attacker type aircraft.
Raging Falcon - Awarded for clearing Campaign Mode using only Fighter type aircraft.
Blazing Griffin - Awarded for clearing Campaign Mode using only Multirole type aircraft.
Guardian - Awarded for keeping one's wingman on the field of battle through vigilant protection.
Quicksilver - Awarded to those who fulfill their mission with speed and precision.
Sharpshooter - Awarded to those who rely solely on the machine gun to clear a path to victory.
Legendary ace - Awarded to those who fly through the field of battle unscathed.
Bronze Star - Awarded for clearing all Campaign Mode missions on Normal with an S rank.
Silver Star - Awarded for clearing all Campaign Mode missions on Hard with an S rank.
Gold Star - Awarded for clearing all Campaign Mode missions on Expert with an S rank.
Platinum Star - Awarded for clearing all Campaign Mode missions on Ace with an S rank.

I've heard quite a few people say they went through a mission using only the machine gun and didn't get the medal. I can also testify to going through a mission without being damaged and didn't get the medal.

Gold Marksman = 200 kills
I'm guessing Sharpshooter, Quicksilver, and Legendary Ace have something to do with beating the entire game using only machine gun/quickly(i guess)/without being hurt or maybe just without dying
Edit: Oh and I'm guessing the stars might be for Hard, Expert, Ace, and Ace of Aces, but I'd kinda hope not

it might be a possible that you have to do it on a higher difficulty, instead of the entire campaign

I think it might be through the entire campaign. I got Guardian recently and that was after having my wingman survive through every mission. When your in campaign go to Gallery then Battle Statistics you'll see a list of every mission you've completed in that particular campaign even if it is SP New Game. In the stats for each mission it'll show whether your wingman survived, what type of aircraft you used, total damage recieved in that mission and kill percentages with machine gun, missles and special weapon. All those things have to do with some of the various medals.

I'm gonna get around to trying it sooner or later. I think I'll prolly go on easy and play till I get damaged then restart from last checkpoint.

EDIT: Quicksilver has me stumped still. I think that one might be in one mission and have somethig to do with only destroying red labeled "Target" enemies (hence the precision part) and finishing the mission quickly. Or it could be just finishing a mission fast and without missing.

Needle's Eye - Awarded for performing 10 consecutive landings amidst the heat of battle.
How exactly is this supposed to be done?

assuming you've already beaten the game on normal, you start up free mission, load up level 2 on normal. You'll start off the level on a runway....land on this 10 times in a row (yes in one mission) and you'll nab the medal.

i've yet to do this, but someone from the gamespot forums confirmed this works.

That's exactly what I did to get that medal and the achievement. Did it on a different mission though

I just got quicksilver + legendary ace in one run. Not too bad on normal. Just use the CFA-44, destroy objectives QUICKLY (I did it in under 2 hours), and don't take any damage.

i'm gonna try to knock off Night Owl + sharpshooter next run. A-10's mounted gun is NASTY

I'm playing through Campaign Mode on easy difficulty. Can I switch the difficulty to a higher level and complete the missions through the free mission mode to get the Star medals?

easy = no medals

you need to do all the missions on normal or higher difficulty

for the Needle's Eye medal, do you actually have to perform the landing or can you press start to skip? if you do actually perform the landing yourself, how did you do it without failing the mission cuz i always run out of time or fail cuz the bombers kill the city in mission 2.

Try doing it in Sipli Field. For the first Objective take the runway then you should have about 30 minutes to complete the 10 landings. Should only take you about 10 minutes though.

I dunno if you can press start to skip the landing, I didn't want to take any chances when I did it.

I learned that out the hard way when I first started playing. I went for the no damage medal and the under 2 hour campaign completion on easy and finished the campaign and no medal...I was dissapointed. I should've just started a normal campaign like I thought I should. Oh well.

it didn't work for me, you'll have to land manually in order to get the medal/achievement.

I personally used the CFA-44 on mission 2, and kept landing/taking off and shot down any bombers that came near the city. Basically when they're about to come into your radar range, you go our and destroy the bomber. I managed to land all 10 times before the 3rd wave of bombers

Yup, you can get the star medals in free mission.

Yup, I quoted myself! Ha! I got the name mixed up, it wasn't Sipli Field. I meant Anea Landing as a good place to go for the Needle's Eye.

You CAN get the following medals on EASY:
Bronze, Silver, Gold Ace and Marksman, and the Needles Eye

This is CONFIRMED, I have them, and played through on Easy in order to rack up some credits and unlock all the planes/ paint schemes (which don't change the specs of the planes like the DLC paint does...the free one makes the F-16 much better).

Oh...I don't have Gold Marksman...my bad, but I do have the others, and did do them all on EASY. Now, does anyone know if the other difficulties are stacked? If you beat Expert does it give you credit for Normal/ Hard as well?

Thanks for the info, but regarding the paint schemes, I haven't seen a single named aircraft in easy/normal difficulties (unless you count the Strigon Team). I'm 100% sure that they only appear when you play on Hard+ difficulty.

As for the stacking, I don't believe so. I beat the game on normal, then skipped hard to play on expert/ace. I've received my platinum star medal (as seen on my gamer pic) but no silver/gold star medals

The paint schemes I was talking about were the second ones...which you get for completing the campaign on any difficulty (easy included)...my point is that there is some benefit to cruising through the game on easy, then using a superior plane to make the higher difficulties easier, and that you can accomplish a modest amount of achv progress by doing it that way.

-Quicksilver - Awarded for clearing Campaign Mode in record time. (under 2:00 hours) (Normal+)

I just did a run a normal and completed the campaign with a final total time of 2:03 and still got the Quicksilver medal. So obviously the requirements aren't under two hours though I don't know what your final time has to be under. Maybe 2:30 or 3:00?

ah, yes I forgot about the second set of skins you unlock. I also agree with your point.

As for the final times, I don' think anything been confirmed, but the general consensus was under 2:00 hours. I know it isn't 3:00, because that's how long it took me to beat the game on normal the first time. So that leaves between 2-3 hours.

no the medals dont stack, i completed the game on ace hoping to unlock the third CFA-44 colour scheme and all i got was a gamer picture, and so i started working on the medals..

i did ace first, S-ranked everything on ace for that star and that was the only star i got unfortunately.. doing the same missions (damn you 13!) over and over is kind of a burnout =\

anyways, according to my battle stats, ive got 11283 kills in total and 3% of which are from gun, that equals 338 kills. so i figure, maybe it rounds up.. 282 kills by going from 2.5% .. and yet no medal for 200 machine gun kills.
any way of seeing an exact number on kills? cause wont be too happy if its glitched or something and not given me the medal heh.

btw: speed and precision is 2:15 limit.

for the gold marksman it has to be aircraft, ground TGT's do not count. and yes you can S rank all missions in quick play. just a question can you get the legendary ace medal in free mission mode?
