achievements and medals

do you have to be on the campaign mode playing through to get the achievements or can u still get them after the fact in the free missions on the campaign?

The only way you can get everything is with multiple plays of the missions. You can only get for example 2 out of 3 Operation medals in mission 4 the first time you play it. You have to play it again to do the operation you missed. So the answer is yes, you can get medals and achievements (in fact its the only way to get all of them) in the free missions. (but nothing on the free flights (with no enemies) don't know the point of them really).

What I did, knowing I had to play through multiple times anyhow, was go through the game once on Easy (which was easy and quick), which unlocked all the planes (but one), then on my next playthrough I focused solely on the Objectives I missed the first time around.

Thanks! I've been playin on easy cuz I'm using the flight stick, not that far in the game, but I was curious about unlockin planes while playing on easy.

My question is, can I play the free missions on increasing difficulties to unlock the stuff from higher difficulties? I started my campaign on easy, and I do plan on completing the operations through the free missions, but can I change difficulty and get any remaining medals from them?

You could, but it will be one major pain in the but and take a much longer amount of time.

You can get all achievements, Enemy and ally assualt record, operations and medals in the free missions. EXCEPT the medals which specifically state campaign.

The medals for machine gun only and no damage through campaign ect must be done on normal or up. Can't be obtained on easy.
