I wrote this all while on a plane to Washington DC:

Alright, I have had 200/200 for a while, so I am gonna make my second guide ever, w00t. First, lets get one thing straight. I am on an airplane right now. I don't have hard gamer-score numbers or exact achievement names, so bare with me. Alright, lets get started!

-=Beat the game on normal=-
See: beat the game on Insane
In normal difficulty, you get four lives instead of one, but when you run out you can still get rescued by a partner. Also, in normal difficulty, there are A LOT less enemies. This is one reason why it is hard to get the Ace achievement on normal.

-=Beat the game on Insane=-
The bread and butter of this game. There are 6 levels, almost all of them having a boss or two. You do have to do this all in one sitting, because you can't save, but it is not that hard. If you get a game of four people going, everything should die quickly and the game should go smoothly.

-=Rookie=-
(30,000 points)
see: Ace

-=Veteran=-
(100,000 points)
see: Ace

-=Ace=-
This achievement is always the hardest one for people to beat, but there is a method. start a two player game with a good, reliable partner. Choose the best pilot out of the two of you. whoever is the best pilot should be the one driving both of you. You should be given all of the missiles and lasers, to rack up points. The other person should be given shields and EMPs in order to protect you both. Just play normally, but make sure you are the only one shooting except for when you are in trouble, that is when the other person can help. This should be done on insane, so if you die, it is okay for your partner to bring you back, but if you both die, it's time to restart.

-=Diplomat=-
For this one you have to complete a level without shooting. The easiest way around this one is to get a 3-4 player game on normal difficulty on the first level. have everyone try to kill everything while you just dodge away. Remember, you CAN get hit, you just can't shoot. As long as everyone else is still alive by the time the boss comes, you should be fine.

-=Exterminator=-
This achievement is a matter of killing every single enemy on a level. I find it hard to believe that people have trouble with this one. The first time I played this game I accidentally got it on level one by myself :P Just get some partners together and play the level. You don't need to worry about making a 'plan' too much, just don't let any enemies get through. Epic warrior worked great for most people with this one.

-=Untouchable=-
There isn't any fail safe way to get through this one. Have people kill for you on level one while you dodge in the back shooting helplessly. Sometimes it helps to attach to an experienced pilot for this one.

-=Half way point=-
For this guy you have to beat the third level. This is the first level with 2 bosses, but there is no need to worry. This level is just a one-upped version of the first level, with one exception: Purple splazer lazers of death!! These things charge up, and shoot a big purple laser of death that scorches through everything it hits. The trick is to let them shoot, then get up and kill them before they shoot again. You may also want to rush one before it even shoots once, but make sure to get out of the way after a couple seconds.

-=Epic Warrior=-
This is simple enough, just get a fourth player game going and have everyone attach together for a second. You can detach right after that, so don't worry about staying together.

-=Teamwork=-
This one is a little bit glitched, but not really. you just have to learn to take the terms literally. what you have to do is attach TO someone, not the other way around, and get 10,000 points alone. Not combined. It is not hard at all to accumulate that many points so don't worry. Start on the first level if your having trouble.

-=Immortal=-
Another easy achievement. Complete a level without dying or having any other teammates die. YOU CANNOT DO THIS ONE ALONE. you have to have a partner. Or two. Or three. Doesn't matter. Just play the first level on normal and make sure everyone is still alive by the end of the level. This does not mean run out of lives, it means dies at all.

General Tips:
Bosses can only be hurt by shooting their big red eye. When it is white, they are invincible.
Use your shields to their fullest! They can reflect bullets back, so remember to rush into bullets that enemies have shot while a shield is activated so that the shield is used right. But, remember that it does not protect from enemies, just their shots.
Use your powerups correctly! If you have 6 rockets, and you see a rocket pick up, do not pick it up! use two rockets first then run and get it. This way, because the max powerups at a time is 8, none are wasted.
Epic warrior is overrated. Get over it. In fact, you should NEVER have it in an insane game. this is because if everyone dies, you have to start the level over.

Last level boss help:
-Sub-boss
This guy has some nice tricks. He does three things: Sprays a barrage of easily-avoidable bullets, makes a big circle around the screen, and speeds through the center of the screen. He does a combination or bullets and circles a total of three times, then he speeds through and a couple of enemies come. You have to remember to move down or up when he speeds through so that you don't get smacked! Remember that, and you will be fine.
-Final
This can be a real hassle on insane, but if you learn his patterns then you will be the winner. He will always be vulnerable except for when his enemies come, which is a blessing because then you get powerups. for the mean time, the final boss in aegis wing, the queen, will emit ever so glitchy lasers that will kill you if you are somehow on top of one when they turn red. You have to be FAR away from them in order to stay safe, or else so kind of force will kill you. He might occasionally throw these rings at you, so as long as you are ALWAYS right in front of his eye you will be safe. You can also move up or down if you are paranoid. After shooting his eye enough times, he will start to shoot bullets non stop until he dies. This sucks on Insane because it is impossible to revive dead partners. Do your best to find a comfort zone in the midst of his lasers. Once he is dead, I guarantee that you will be yelling, quote on quote, "YES!"

Ace Exploit:
I personally am not patient enough to use this method, but if you are desperate, here is the place to look. Get to the fifth level (re-entry) on any difficulty and get to the boss that shoots out asteroids and lasers. All you have to do is evade his lasers until his monsters come. Kill them and get powerups, getting points. Do this all while NOT shooting the boss. if you ever come across a laser power up, use it to destroy asteroids for even more points. You will slowly climb by 50 point intervals all the way to 185k. Not so fun. Good luck.

Not bad. Just picked it up and hopefully will make it my second completed arcade game (right after N+).

this game is surprisingly tough. i just found it looking for easy achievements and to my surprise they are not. at least by yourself.
