Masyaf_Flag_01:
As soon as you leave the castle bit, head slightly off to the left path, towards the large tower there.

Enter the tower and head up to the top, it's in the corner, on the left:

It's just behind the houses over the gap, you can see it as you walk down the path from the castle after you've spoken to the guy who tells you to go to the market place.

Just to your left from that last picture is a small square building with a ladder, climb it to the roof, and bang, another flag.

Straight in front of you is another row of houses, a flag is on top of the first building.

From the location of Flag_03, run along the same 'behind the houses' bit and there's this on, out on a ledge, over the gorge.

On the end building of that row, jump across to the one out on it's own, by now you'll see it anyway.

Jump off that building and head down on the street, bearing off to the right, the last house on the left, there's a low wall and a tree, the next flag is there:

Back up on that path again, head straight on, the next one I found was in that sheltered bit, just above his head in this picture:

From Flag 09's location, drop down to the street level and walk round, carrying on, to the right, after the first building on the corner/on your right, walk behind it to see a haycart, walk to the left of it, jump over a wall and it'll be there, this picture was taken from the other side, to make it easier to see :)

From where I was standing, turn around and drop down to the little 'square' where there's a well, head out towards the bottom of Masyaf, but don't carry on down, cross over the 'main' path towards a single building on the left (there's a boulder near a tree) walk towards the side of the building with the bright rug on it, boom, it's tucked away in the corner there.

From where you start the Interrogation mission, remember that point, the 'viewpoint' with 2 flag poles. Face towards the town square at the bottom, then turn right around. Look for the tall building with the red rug hanging (shown clearly in the picture) from it, on the near by roof is the next flag I found.

Where you jump down after the leap of faith bit and walk the beams, and climb up, and then jump off that building where the logs where in the first cutscene bit, well, climb out of that haystack, and have a look over the ledge. It's only there isn't it!!

In the room where you meet the teacher guy and where the door to the gardens opens (see Flag_19/20 for where I'm on about) the library part, go down the stairs, peel off to the right, bang, there's another one there.

After going back to Masyaf, after the first assassination mission in Damascus, go back to the tower with the leap of faith from the first part of the game (Flag 02's room), do the jumpy bit, then after the first beam, before you do the second beam, go down and grab the flag, shown from the reverse side in the picture.

Why did you take pictures after you'd picked up the flags? Surely the pictures would be more useful if the flag was still pictured within?

I did. The first picture is the only one without, I thought about making this list AFTER I'd snagged it. Click on the pics and they get bigger, hopefully with the descriptions, it should be dead easy to find them.

I can't remember, I think you may have to wait. I know that there are two flags where you have to do the Leap of Faith in the beginning, though. One flag in the room before you jump, and one after you cross the first beam, its on the left just before you cross the second.

so I've got all but the two that are in the garden, and I can't figure out how to get to those two. They taunt me..and it's getting kind of frustrating! Anyone have any idea how to get into that garden?

play further into the game and the garden opens? not to tough door just opens and you walk straight through the castle

You need to complete the Damascus chapter and as soon as you finish it and talk with the leader of the assassins order you will be able to go into the garden.

there are acctually three flags.. don't know if you tried to imply that, but still. one before you jump, one right before the second beam and one if you go past the last beam (leading to the house you have to climb to get back up)..

EDIT: woohoo.. just found the last flag! #16 and #17 are the ones i just mentioned, outside where you do the leap of faith during the cutscene, the leap is just a tiny bit away from where picture #02 is taken.. you'll see it, if you don't remember where you did it at the beginning of the game, there are three small wooden boards sticking out from there, just dive down and follow my earlier "guide"..
#18 is inside the castle.. bottom floor.. and there you go! :P

before i came to this thread i had 19/20 (including the 2 in the garden) flags and cant freakin find the last one. I forget which ones i found because i really wasn't paying attention when i got them. Which one do you think was the hardest to find and the one that i might be missing?
