Disconnected from XBOX live

happens all the time to me so this is like a 2 part question
1. How can i make it stop and
2. Will this effect some of my achievements
it happened to me when i was fighting alma (fear) and i never got the collect all boosters achv. theres a chance i may have missed one but i dont think so. also i just picked this game back up after sitting on my desk for a while

is your ethernet cable properly connected to the back? maybe your modem's power cord keeps slipping or something. when all advice from people on the internet fails, just call 1-800-4MY-XBOX i call them for anything lol.

example of a real question i've asked one of them: "Why does the controller burn out the power of the batteries so quickly?"

they answer a lot of questions you wouldn't think they would care about

Getting booted from Live! will only keep you from getting an online achievement - never an offline one.

Are you on a wireless connection? If so, you could have an IP address conflict. Or another user signing into Live! from in your house can do it too sometimes. Or you could just have crap Internet....
