5 straight losses, 9-12 Cleveland Cavaliers. They really need LeBron back. Oh yeah - Cavs beat the Celtics! If we would have gotten Garnett, we would have to two best players in the league and complete domination would have occured as a result.

I don't pay attention to the NBA until the playoffs, and then I only watch when my team is involved (which means I haven't watch a lot in the past few years), but i'd be a Celtics fan.
I'm from Boston, so it's hometown pride right there.

Celtics. I'm glad to see that my hometown New England area is dominating the professional sports scene except for maybe the Bruins. I still can't believe the World Series was won by the Red Sox and the Pats are on their way to a possibly perfect season and the Celtics are doing very well with Garnett, Pierce and Allen tearing things up.

^^ Agreed, if you were to get rid of one of them, T-mac should go. Build the team around the big man, they need good perimeter shooters that can knock down open jumpers when Yao is double teamed, and more importantly great perimeter defenders that can funnel the penetration into the lane for Yao to disrupt. It's much harder to find a quality big man these days then a perimeter player.
At the end of the day, it's the bigs and your team defence that win championships. Unless of course your name is Michael Jordan and the Bulls. Even look at Kobe, probably the best, if not the second best individual player in the league, but the Lakers chances of winning a title are slim to none. If you took Yao out of Houston and left McGrady on his own, the Rockets would struggle to even make the playoffs.

my team is definatly the Cavs of cleveland. 1 reason is im about 1 hour away from the arena lol. But they have a team structur that no other team has. They don't base their offence around 1 person. it is a team effort.
Look at the lakers for example. Kobe Bryant, they base the team around him. The Cavs and the Miami heat are the best all around team.
Heat use Dewane wade and Shaq as main power of their offence with haslem being a good mid range shooter.
The cavs have Big Z ( Zudruous Ilgauscus ) Lebron James, 2 very very good point guards ( Eric Snow, Daniel gibson ) and good guards, ( danyelle marshal and Drew gooden ) Cavs as I said are not based around 1 player, they play as a team, the way the game should be played. Im not a Miami Heat fan but I have to say they are a very rounded team.
Thanks a lot guys

i dont believe z3lda thinks the cavs dont base their team around 1 player have u been watching the same cavs team as i have LOL Uh ya lebron is all they have and they no it numerous occasions there has been 1 player scoring the last 20 points in the game for the team .
I hate to drag on about my team but the celtics dont base their offense on 1 player cause they got 3 of em. not to mention eddie house and james posey comin off the bench WHAT!

Yup, the Celtics definitely are looking for real this year. I just watched them last night against the Sonics, Ray Allen didn't do squat, but Pierce put on a jumpshooting clinic and KG just got to coast the whole game shooting 20 foot jumpers. When they needed baskets though they dumped it down low to KG and he did his thing. It's a nice luxury to be able to have a star player have an off night and it still doesn't really put the whole team at risk of losing. 3 Allstars on one team is a good look, if they aren't selfish players like Kobe, T-Mac etc.

Hey dude, yeah Durant is gonna be for real in a few years but the rest of the Sonics are a D-League team at best lol. You know you are in trouble when your second best option is Wally Sczerbiak !! Still, they hung in there for the first three quarters, then Boston decided it was time to bury them. Enjoyable game though, I was just hoping it wasn't gonna be a blowout.

Yup, best sig I've seen in a while, I love how he is already walking away from the rack with his arm raised before the ball even drops. Or how when he was in the dressing room before the contest even started, and said to all '' So which of you mother ****ers is coming in second?'' Larry Legend FTW.

Not to burst your bubble, but you are arguably the BIGGEST fan boy I have seen from any city. Get over yourself, but Boston isn't that great at sports. Their short span of wins will end in 1 or 2 years.

That post is complete trash. The Heat, first of all, are terrible this year. And although I may be from Cleveland, look at the Cavs record when LeBron was out for those few games. Exactly, didn't win a game. I will at least admit that my team is suckin' this year, unlike CrimeMinister.

So your SPORTS team is better than mine. I should go cry in a corner and cut myself to sleep. At least I can type correctly and know proper grammar. The 96 Bulls would beat your Celtics any day, though. Plus, they had two main players, look at the Celtics. They have 3 main players, plus the best player in the NBA (except LeBron ;)).

Umm, the Knicks are pretty terrible to be honest. Atlanta is an average team with one amazing player to watch (Josh Smith). It could be a fairly even game though, which is what you want, it's no fun seeing one team winning by 20 or 30 points. Regardless you are going to Madison Square Garden to see an NBA game, you are in for a treat, I'm sure you will have a great time. The fans there are quite passionate, and at the moment pretty much all of New York wants their coach to be fired lol. I'm sure the atmosphere will be colorful, and quite entertaining.
If you are into memorabilia at all, I'd suggest arriving early at the game (at least 1 hour before tip-off) and you will quite easily be able to obtain autographs from the players after they warmup. Just hangout by the tunnels that the players walk out of from the dressing rooms. The safest bet is to buy a basketball, and then whoever signs it you will have a cool keepsake, or if you wanted to chance it you could buy a specific jersey and try to get the player to sign it. Basically the staff will let anybody down to floor level while the players warmup, before the actual game starts. If anyone gives you any grief just tell them you are from the UK and this is your first NBA game, and I'm sure you will be more than welcomed there.
A little Josh Smith highlight clip for ya buddy :) I'm jealous of you man I've been to loads of NBA games but never in New York, it's always been a goal of mine, seeing how I'm a lifelong Knicks fan. Hope you have a blast!

Lakers all the way baby!!!! After getting Pau Gasol, lakers are going to be unstoppable. Imagine when Lakers get Bynum and Ariza back. Oh boy I'm looking forward to it. Hopefully they come back healthy though. I'm still kind of worried about kobe's pinky injury but he proved he can still play efficient. He went 16-25 in the phoenix game in shaq's debut and delivered whenever the lakers needed it. But lets see how it goes until the end of the season.
But don't get too excited yet celtic fans. You still have to be worried about getting past the pistons in the eastern conference, so you can't even be sure if they will make the finals.
