I figured this would be the best forum to show you all what my new lens can do.

It's the Canon 100mm f/2.8 Macro lens.

Like most lenses I've dealt with it's clearest around f/8 and starts to lose it's sharpness more and more at f/11 and up.

Sorry these aren't really artistically great. Just wanted to test the lens and share. This spring I'll get to go out and actually have fun with it.

How much did you spend on this? That's an amazing picture. The lens must be the size of an astoronomical telesope.

It was listed as $599 in the best buy store, but I was able to get it for $509 because they price-matched with the best buy website.

It was still a rip off though. BHphotoVideo has it for like $435.

It's not too big. A standard camera lens.

What's the zoom? Take a picture of something further away and try to get some detail on that too.

It's a 100mm prime lens, which means it doesn't zoom.

I do have a 70-200mm that works quite nice.

Amazing detail, but sometime detail can be, well, gross :o. I don't mean to offend but the eye lashes kinda freak me out lol. The detail in the money is sick tho.
