View Full Version : Why the Pats lose the Super Bowl

First off I love fottball however I am neither a Gaints or Pats fan, my team lost so bad this year they did not make it to the playoffs but that is okay I still love them.

In every game there is a string of events that can lead to a team winning or losing but I think this was the LARGEST mistake that the Pats did.

Coach Bill Belichick (Pats coach for those who do not know) made the WORST Super Bowl call I have EVER seen in my life (and I would say for MANY years to come).

It's 4th and 13 on the 31-yard line and Pats have the ball. Yes that would of been a 49-yard field goal attempt BUT take this into consideration: There was NO wind (the dome was CLOSED) and secondly the field goal kicker was practicing 50 yard kicks ALL day with a VERY high and impressive completion percentage.

But instead of going for the 3 points they try the 4th and 13! Of course they lost it and the Gaints take over.

They end of losing by 3 points.

I thinks thats why they lost.

I am sorry for all the Pats fans out there but I think they lost this game by being (at least the coach) arrogant. Who in the world goes for a 4th and 13 at the 31-yard line during a game that is SO close at the Super Bowl? A team that is so arrogant they think they are unstoppable.

Again I am not flaming anyone, I am not trying to upset any fans, or anything. Like I said I am not a fan of any of these teams. I just like football and I could not believe what I saw on the field last night.

I too thought about that call after the game and had the same opinion. Im a Pats fan (although from the UK) and thought that was a poor decision.

However if they scored the field goal a better field position may have been conceded from the kick off etc. It's all ifs buts and maybes, bottom line we lost and the giants deserved it.

It wasn't the only decision that cost them the superbowl though, I think the giants defensive line stepped up and took it to the Patriots which they were not prepared for.

Most defantly... the Giants deserve the props and their defense was amazing.

This was the best super bowl in MANY years and it will be talked about for a very long time.

The Giants d-line destroyed Brady. I replayed one of the big sacks over and over lol.

Yea, the entire Patriots team is filled with arrogant bastards (mainly Tom Brady and Bill Belichik). No need to worry... they will go 12-4 at best this year, but I still say they will go 11-5. This was the best Super Bowl of all time... 14-6 is better than 18-1 f*ck yea. Watching the Pats go down almost got my d*ck hard.

LOL to especially the last part. The one I hate on the Pats most if Rodney Harrison. THAT guy is an ass, every single play in the Super Bowl he kept trying to rip the ball from Giants players AFTER the play was over. Ridiculous. Freakin' roid rage.

OMG I hate that (insert racial slur here)! I wish he would just get a life threatening injury already. I know this will probably be his last year, but I don't give a f*ck about that asshole. Somebody will take care of him this season... I would love to see someone like Maurice Jones-Drew (even though I guarantee you this little motherf*cker is on roids or HGH or some growth hormone) runs right through him. I remember seeing Jones-Drew f*ck up Shawne Merriman (another well known roids user). Last year, we took care of Shawne Merriman. Jeff Fisher sent in a 3rd stringer to go take out his knees because he tried to cheapshot VY. Well, I hope he learned his lesson because he was out about 3-4 weeks. Plus, if you believe in karma: his $90,000 Mercedez was found burned to hell shortly around the time that the off-season started.

hold on, i dont kno anything about this thread, so im not trying to start anything, but the only reason why the giants won and pats lost is because if it werent for rodney harrisons knee cushioning david tyrees fall, the ball would of just fell out

and about harrison, i respect him and his performance at saftey, theres no need to bad mouth him when he just takes the game as seriosuly as most hard asses on a team, and for him using roids, most people do, try and prove me wrong, there just good at hiding it because professional football itsself takes a beating on your muscles. terry bradshaw said he took em like 30 years after the fact because he figured they couldnt do anything about it, hell im in high school and most people take roids because it gives a signifcant advantage

I don't think you've listened to Rodney Harrison before. He is an arrogant douchebag.

LOL. He just doesn't do anything likeable, and maybe he doesn't care, which is fine. But does he have to do those things like trying to strip the ball after the play is over? That's like the pitcher throwing at the hitter in baseball - it may be part of the game but that doesn't make it right.

If 2000 is as far back as you go. Rams vs. Titans, THAT was a great superbowl. That's what you call down to the wire. The play wasn't on youtube, but it was almost epic.

Kill yourself. I was there and I was only 10 years old, but I was furious. I was in that endzone too. About 15 seats up from the bottom.
