you guys already no about this

Another slick use was with a piece of software called Digimask. With Digimask the user takes a head-on and profile shot of their face then, using some basic icons, defines the characteristics of their head."

Things like wearing a baseball cap, having a pony tail, long hair, basic shape features, etc.. Once you have a rough shape of your face the 360 spends a couple minutes processing it all and voila, instant in-game character of your own likeness."

The whole process takes less than 5 minutes with very good results. You cannot see it animate in the photos but you can open and close the mouth, wiggle the ears, and move the rest of the face around in realtime."

The last use they showed was a tank style game where you could see your opponent mapped onto the console of the tank. It's some wacky chick in the picture."

KOBALT
March 10th, 2006, 09:20 AM
Thank you :)

I'd do them in a heart beat. get rid of the same old questionaire thing and do some real live interviews on like a messenger or something. I think people would enjoy that.

NamelessForever
March 10th, 2006, 09:54 AM
That would be pretty sweet indeed. What kind of questions would you ask though? Give us all a synopsis of how it would go.

KOBALT
March 10th, 2006, 10:11 AM
Well its hard to know with out knowing who it will be. But I’d ask them the question I think people would want to hear. Like for example I would have at least 3 questions the members wanted me to ask. Like I could get e-mailed or pmed and I would pick 3. Get them more involved. Other then that I’d ask how they felt about cheating along with the other people on the leader boards. How they like posting. There favorite games. How they got started with games and why. Not everyone is a nerd who plays games. Me I started because I used to get in A LOT of trouble when I was younger. I had to put a stop to it or I would end up in Jail. So my parents had me on there own house arrest pretty much. They got me a PS1 and I just got hooked from there. I did own a NES and SNES but I wasn’t like this. So as far as I’m concerned Games kinda saved me.

That's pretty good to hear. I like the part about getting the gamers on the forum involved as well.

KOBALT
March 10th, 2006, 10:18 AM
Well I figure everyone here has something they might want to ask someone like King or crono or whoever. So why not.

NamelessForever
March 11th, 2006, 07:15 AM
Speaking of TheKing, he doesn't seem to come around here very often. I guess he's to busy racking up his gamerscore even higher.

KOBALT
March 13th, 2006, 08:05 AM
ummm sure. Hes probably to busy having people kiss his ass.

NamelessForever
March 13th, 2006, 08:17 AM
Yeah, that's true as well. But just think, what if he isn't even the person with the highest? There could be someone else out there with an even higher gamerscore, they just aren't registered with any gamerscore tracking website.

KOBALT
March 13th, 2006, 08:27 AM
very true. Or they don't have cable internet.

NamelessForever
March 14th, 2006, 09:53 AM
It's hard to believe that there is still dial-up internet out there, especially in this time and day.

Crono117
March 14th, 2006, 05:08 PM
Seeing as tons of achievements need to be achieved ONLINE it is near impossible that someone would have a higher gamerscore and not have heard about mygamercard.net

True Crono, but you can still get to 20k gamerscore without ever going online. There are enough games out there now that it can be done.

KOBALT
March 15th, 2006, 07:42 AM
Yeah but they would of had to get EVERY thing. I don't see it.

NamelessForever

Total Achievement Statistics
Live Arcade: 18 games with 216 achievements worth 3,560 gamerpoints.
Xbox 360: 31 games with 836 achievements worth 29,755 gamerpoints.

As you can see, by your own website, only 3,560 gamerpoints are from the arcade, which you HAVE to have online to even get the game, so you can count those out. Now, you take the 29,755 that are just 360 games into the mix. Out of those, even if you were generous and took away say 5,000 of those for online only achievements, you could still have 24,755 gamerscore without even going online once. I am not trying to be an ass, I've already had one event this morning, but all I stated was that it COULD happen, not that it HAS happened.

KOBALT
March 15th, 2006, 08:33 AM
I don't think your an ass. In love with ST King...maybe lol

Ok yeah its possible. But I mean damn thats damn near perfect in everything else.

NamelessForever
March 15th, 2006, 08:53 AM
I do apologize Kobalt, I didn't mean to come down on you like that. The other event from this morning just has me a little razzled, so to speak. I am not in love with St TheKing by any means at all. I just think he is an excellent gamer and I wouldn't mind playing against him in a game or two in the future. And my wife thinks he's a GOD, so we won't even go there. Of course, she thinks the same about Crono as well.

Well, you will have the 12 yr olds, yes. But, it will also add a little something extra to the XBox Live community as a whole cause you will be able to see who you are playing as you are playing them. I think it will be cool.

GDC 06: The Xbox 360 Camera

First details on Microsoft's answer to the EyeToy.

by Jonathan Miller

March 22, 2006 -

You know that extra USB port on the back of your 360? That's for the upcoming Xbox 360 camera, a handy little gadget that will rival Sony's innovative EyeToy. We got our hands on a brochure for game developers at the Game Developers Conference in San Jose, Calif. today and are excited at what this little baby will do.

With a nine-foot cord, the camera will reach around large TVs. You'll be able to video chat over Xbox Live. There was a concept picture showing a game of poker and the pictures of excited gamers laughing and frolicking in their living rooms. There's of course the obligatory video recording.

But the biggest and best feature will be gesture recognition. Basically, the camera is going to translate your movements in real life and input them in the game. There was a concept picture of two kids playing a snowboarding game, but we really have no idea what this means except that Microsoft may be taking aim at the Nintendo Revolution as well as the EyeToy. Given the success of Xbox Live Arcade, the 360 Camera could be another strong effort to lure more than just hard-core gamers to Microsoft's next-generation console.

According to the brochure: "These features provide developers opportunities for unprecedented levels of innovation and personalization, and enable gamers to customize and socialize in their game worlds in ways they never could before. Additionally, Xbox 360 Camera support is deeply integrated into the Dashboard, making every Xbox 360 console owner a potential customer for the camera and your camera-enabled game."

Also, the camera program will include XDK support for streaming video. The three-dimensional "face-in-game" for which the EyeToy is famous will be available "through middleware providers."

Here are the specs:

USB 2.0 bus-powered device

Smooth, near DV quality video: up to VGA 640x480 at 30 FPS

High-def images: still photos up to SVGA 1280x980 (1.3 Mp)

Manually adjustable variable focus: 2 feet to infinity

Field of View: 43 degrees

On board image processor

Digital zoom, cropping

Auto exposure, white balance, gamma correction, sharpness

Long (~9 feet) cable to reach around large TVs

Includes a headset for great audio.
