Shoot down a Chinook

I'd say to find a level with a Chinook (a transport helicopter with twin blades) and shoot it down. I'll know more in a few hours when I get my copy of the game!

select the rpg in the special weapons part of selection and shoot the chinnok with it some choppers take two shots !

What about the 2nd level when you are parachuting down, they say to use the sniper rifle to shoot the tail blade?? Don't know if that would count but I do know you get extra money for doing it. I'm still trying so can't confirm.

A Chinook does not have a tail blade...it has two "main" (horizontal) rotors. If it works, great!

Well the Ahr Pee Gee doesnt have 2 shots.. .that would mean i'd have to take that BFG looking thing :P

I would think the Stinger would take one down...I haven't gotten too far yet, waiting for a friend to get home before I "jump in"

yea it has got as many shots as you pick up eatra ammo for it , i have only ever has 2 missiles for it tho

Yeah I shot the chopper down with the sniper, but your right that wasn't it. I guess it's further along in the game.

yea its when you are doing the lock gates with the speed boat after you activate the second switch to level the water the chinook comes in if you have not used your rpg - stinger and you have picked up avalible ammo packs you should have two missiles theis will blast it outta the sky , again not sure what level it is maybee 4 or 3

Ya for some reason I got two rockets for the rpg at that points.. really weird.. it never does that.. is it because i pimped it?... dunnooo

I tried hitting it with an RPG, and then shooting it with a PKM for as long as it was in the air, including trying to hit the rotors etc. No Joy.

I suspect I need to redo the level with the Stinger (as that is an Anti Air Missile)

No actually. because there's no difference in damage. I got to pick up two rockets for rpg on that part of the level right there... Note that my rpg was pimped out... that might allow for a second slot.. i'm not sure.. but i had 2

The chinook won't go down with guns, they have 2 main blades, and I unloaded a clip of my maxed out PKM into the damn thing with no results...... You need the stinger I imagine...

What level(s) have chinooks in them that can be shot down.

actually it will. I shot it once with a RPG then me and my brother unloaded on it with machine guns. It started smoking and finally went down. We had both of our machine guns maxed out at full damage BTW.

If you reserved your game at a Gamestop they should have given you a paper that lets you unlock 2 weapons the BST-V1 SMG and the SAL-86 long -range sniper grenade rifle. If you buy the SAL-86 and aim at the chopper (Chinook) you can easily take it out with two shots.

If you dont have this paper here is the code to unlock:

Go to the menu and go to extras then go to unlock weapons and enter it without the dashes. I dont know if the code works more than once but if you dont get it to work send me a friend request and we'll trade weapons in the game that way you can shoot it down. It's worth 10k as a bonus objective. The helicopter you need 2 shoot down comes at the locks in china and drops off a group of soldiers. My brother used a stinger but I did'nt have one when I went through so I did'nt bother.

The Chinook apears once you cleared out the damn and have raised the water (as far as I can remember). He will drop troops on the far side of the damn.

2 Missiles (either RPG or Stinger) will take him down. Grenades from your mounted grenade launcher will also work but I am not sure how many. Played this in Coop and I hit him with one grenade and my partner with at least one grenade.

You get a second RPG round from the armoured enemy that you kill just before the chinook lands.

Its easy but there should be an easier way, such as either shooting it down with any sniper rifle, by the rotors, shooting out the pilot, shooting one of those gas tanks as it flies by it, or shooting a valve to make fire shoot up and set it on fire.

I dont like how I have to run around with a ****ing awful stinger on my back just to get 10 more thousand at that part.

That stinger does one hit kills on heavys and you will need it at the end when you are near the final boss fight, especially on Professional class.

i used the stinger and the only time i have a sniper rifle is for any parachuting sections now.
