It has come to my attention via several Xbox Text messages that phlishing emails are being sent to people to steal there tags. This item has actually made it into various spambot virus so I thought it prudent to bring it to the attention of the whole community. If you get an email, even from someone you know, that contains a link that leads to what is an exact copy of the Xbox.com login screen then DO NOT enter any details into it! It will send your hotmail address and password to the parties that created this tool and they will use it to steal your gamertag. Remember they don't actually need your gamertag to steal it, just your hotmail addy and password!

Wow, I'll be sure to watch out for anything, and I'm not entering my Live ID and Password into anything except for if I actually go to Xbox.com. Thanks for this warning! :)

You just post. The more posts you have the higher your level becomes. However this doesn't mean spam because the level means nothing and spamming is a waste of time as your threads become deleted and so don't count. Basically just be active in the forums.
On topic thanks for the heads-up

My former gamertag...CHAINGANGSOLDIR, which had over 75,000 gamerscore and 45 arcade games got hacked and stolen. It was a major bummer. Thanks for warning others though. Be careful fellaz!

Eventhough I would hate to attempt to think like these thieves/hackers so, but I would say for many reasons. Temporary free gold memberships, because they can?!? Also as a personal attack instead of just bad repping someone and then the main reason. Some people have credit cards linked to their accounts so they will consistantly steal as many accounts as they can just incase they can find one with a credit card attached and then spend as much money as they can one it downloading stuff onto their HD. A friend of mine got hacked and they used the credit card attached to subscribe to that software development package you can use with XBox 360 and MS refused a refund, eventhough it was downloaded in a totally differant country.

My gamertag was stolen because it was worth over $400 US dollars. The arcade games alone cost me over $350 and the gold membership cost me $50. I got luck though, a week before I had gotten my credit card removed from my account. Gamertags are worth a lot, especially if they have a lot of downloaded content.
