Yeah, I have a massive 500W woofer and I never get to use it as I live in an apartment building and my girlfriend is a Natzi. WHen she's not home I crank it up though =)

Nah, it's my retail unit with a PGR3 faceplate.

The 360 looks kinda dark because of the shadows, and my camera is on it's last legs.

i played at my friends, who has a 60 inch lcd, thats liek a book in width, wall mounted with optical surround sound. the 360 looks utterly stunning on that baby. and you can sit a good 15 feet away.. all thanks to the wirelss controller.

Yeah, one of the first things I did when I got the system was make my own custom background. But I was so annoyed with how distracting it was when trying to read text over it. I guess if you're really artistic or pick something with a colour filter on it, it might still be kool to navigate the dashboard blades.

i just took some pics of stuff from my room the tv is a philips 23" HDTV and i got the preminum xbox 360 witht 2 wireless controllers and 1 play and charge kit. Games i have are dead or alive 3, project gotham racing 3, and perfect dark, and i have 4 preorders soon to coem in march. and my computer desk is nothig special. .and that is a PSP on my desk :D.

if your thinking im spoiled to have this at 15 its because i spoil my self i have a job and work somethimes 5 days a week at minimum wage but usually only 2 days.

its hard work to earn this but im proud. MY parents are against me playign games so they bought em none of this

Well, I don't know about adopting you-I don't want to have to save up for your college education, pay for your braces/back to school clothes/car insurance/diapers (and at 27, what BIG diapers they would be), or have to try and burp you, but you can come and work for free. Yeah, when I said it is an 8' screen, I meant horizontally. TVs measure the size diagonally, so our screen is actually something like 108". We go to a local Sam's Club (If you call 105 miles from my hometown "local") and see all the big screens on display...and they all look so small!
And Crono, I know Moab is a helluva long way from you, but it is worth the trip, guaranteed! We have two Nat'l Parks (Arches and Canyonlands) and thousands of square miles of Nat'l Park quality lands just out our back door (literally! Want a picture?). Make the trip and you play for free! Such a deal, eh?

Thanks ;-) And for the sick faceplate, it's simply a sticker attatched to the Xbox 360 original gameplate. Simply go to www.360covers.com. Incredibly sweet faceplates for about 6 bucks and he also has sideplates too for about 15 bills total.

Just look really close at mine. Use an exacto knife to edge out the cd tray area and the rest is pie. The main trick, and you must must do it, is to take some good ole fashioned rubbing alcohol and clean your ENTIRE faceplate so it has a perfect place to stick. Otherwise, take your time like I did and it'll come out peachy!

My little brother Keanu (my mom liked Speed...ALOT!) was nice enough to stand next to it for scale. Hes 4'10".

I was just about to say that... I don't like textured faceplates because it looks odd compared to the rest of it so... Love your TV man. :D And a balck chair would be pwnage. Blue clashes with your room. Think of the fengscwai! (I can't spell it but I TRIED!)

Exactly what I was thinking, you could have said you didn't like it, or would've chosen differently yourself, etc.

I'm not saying you did anything WRONG, you didn't. You can say things more unpleasantly then they need to be if that's the way you like to say things as long as it's not breaking any rules of the forums.

HOWEVER, what I am saying is that your attitude, from whqat I've seen of it in the forums, tends to be much more negative and offensive than is neccessary and I am just warning you that if it becomes detrimental to the community in future, then it may become a problem for all of us. Being overly negative and possibly offensive can lead to starting big and unpleasant arguments and we don't want that, ok? =)

'Woody' is the only official faceplate I like. I usually hate fake wood but it's a nice colour with a good grain. I also dig the orange and green stripe. It's certainly more interesting than white anyway.

I'm not blaming you as a Mod Crono; just it might be better to PM members regarding personal attitudes in future to avoid repeats of things like this. :-)

Won't post the rest of my setup as it's nothing special (and my desk is a mess). Simply a 26" Sharp LCD HDTV. Someone asked earlier where somebody got this faceplate. I got mine off eBay. Don't ask how much because I won't say. The 360 is one of the "premium bundles," the hard drive is simply in my computer being backed up (that's why it looks like it's missing).

Not sure what the forum rules are on things like this, so I'll simply say there's a program out there similar to Windows eXplorer for the Xbox 360 that you can use to back it up to your computer (gives you a single ~20Gb file, so make sure you have the space).

I don't have an adapter, but one is being worked on. See this website (http://www.360sata.com). My 360 is out of the warranty period, so I cracked into the HDD case and pulled the drive out. I've got 4 SATA ports on my motherboard, so connecting it wasn't an issue.

Gotcha. Head over here (http://www.360gamesaves.com/) for the software. Link is at the top of the page. I believe there are some instructions for use in the FAQ or Tutorial section.

If you buy the adapter so you don't have to pop the HDD case open, you'll need a SATA port in your computer (on the motherboard or an add-in card). If you pop the case open, you'll either need a SATA port or you can buy a SATA-to-USB adapter for about $30-35. Could be useful as you wouldn't need to always shut the computer down to plug the drive in.

Biggest thing to remember is to not try to access the drive through Windows Explorer. It'll want you to format the drive and you'll lose everything.

The car is a mid '90s Cadillac. The 360 is one of the premium systems with the hard drive removed. The guy had it going all weekend with Ridge Racer 6 and didn't have any problems with it locking up or anything. He got the faceplate off eBay. Ten small screens in the car and I'm not sure how the people were able to play multiplayer split-screen.

Also, if anyone is a custom car fan, the car that won this year's Riddler award at the Detroit Autorama show was there (the Chip Foose designed car won last year). Cost nearly $700k to build it. A couple quick shots of it:

Backing up my hard drive as preventative maintenance in case it fails is considered hacking or doing something illegal? I've had 3-4 computer hard drives die on me in the past, and have learned the importance of backing up important data. If my 360's drive every fails, I'd prefer to spend 20-30 minutes sending a backup image to a new drive rather than the hours necessary to earn some of the achievements.

The only link I provided in that post was to a site for an adapter so you don't have to pop the HDD out of the case to use it. I would consider hacking and exchanging game saves, extracting PGR3 photomode pics (which I've done with help from others, but not posted about here), etc. to be hacking.

Usually don't have it pulled out like that but when I took that picture I had just hooked up some new component cables to the DVD player and didn't feel like pushing it back into the hole in the wall. Plan to upgrade to a widescreen HDTV eventually but for now I am fine with playing letterboxed since I would rather wait for SED next year than buy an LCD or something now.

Because 4:3 wouldn't be HD and not playing the 360 in HD on an HDTV would just be crazy. Letterboxed doesn't bug me though. Even with PC games like Half-Life 2 I play letterboxed. Then it also how I watch DVDs. And even a lot of TV shows are starting to be letterboxed. It is the reason I plan to get a widescreen TV though but like I said I would rather wait for SED than buy something now :)

No I mean HD. A lot of CRT HDTVs were 4:3 when I bought one. Made the mistake of being an earlier adopter. This was before LCD and stuff and there were some widerscreen CRTs but I made the mistake of not really doing much research and at the time this TV was getting nothing but great reviews. But even I did get a widescreen one back then I would not be happy since it would still be outdated even compared to current widescreen CRTs and I also don't like the fact that CRT are 1080i native instead of 720p native. For now they do offer the better color but I would still rather have 720p native.

Always some kind of a negative to being an earlier adopter of technology though. Learned my lesson which is why I don't plan to get Blu-Ray or HD-DVD anytime soon. Well unless I decide to get PS3 then that has Blu-Ray but I can't say I am a big Sony fan and will probably just stick with 360 and Revolution for a couple of years until PS3 is cheaper.

exactly. i have my tv out going through my capture card so i can record anything i see on my screen. i also have a separate cable straight from the wall to my tuner so i can capture tv directly.

Don't stack your systems - they won't vent heat properly and you need to get air movement all around most pieces of equipment ideally. The 360 is prone to RROD even when nothing is around it so don't tempt fate by adding any heat ;)
