if all you have is a A/V out jack you will need to get a capture card because the camera does not use Mini-DV there is no way to put video straight form the tape to computer you need that capture card for the video to run through and the computer will record off of that

dazzle is a great capture card its actually the one i have i dont use it for video camera but i use it for like tv and games i just got the basic model it is the dazzle hollywood DV-bridge......the only wires your gonna need is the A/V cables and a fire-wire cable but i think it came with one.

Ok so all i do is record, it goes onto the tape, i hook up the cables to capture card, and it goes on my computer and i can edit it and stuff via movie maker?

Also, after this process how do i delete the footage off the tape?
