Roots of evil question

Im in episode 7 seq. 4 and i just started to burn the roots and i was wondering do i have to go back and get the roots in levels 3 and 4? Also if i go back to get them what will that do to my current game? If anyone can answer these ?s it would be much appreciated...Thanx

you wont have to go back because in episode 8 they are all on the map at the start.
