360 headsets...

Has anyone else had problems with the mics? I'm on my fourth one, they just stop working after a while... but i have a remedy, go to your local wal-mart, buy a mic. You don't have to have a reciept to exchange it with the exact same item, so i wen't to multiple wal-marts and exchanged three bad mics for good ones. Just a suggestion.

Mine never worked, right out of the box. My son's does though, so I use his if I have to. Wireless ones are coming out soon I hear..

mine worked for like a month then stopped working, i can only talk down it if i hold my xbox controller to the side!! so im using my old mic for the 1st xbox

I didn't think that the first XBox's mic worked with the 360?

they work, heres just no manual volume control and mute, you have to do it all through the guide button.

I'm on my second. It just stopped working one night in Halo 2 and I had to use a cell phone headset for a week or two before I made the trip to WalMart.

Ok, and how did you get the headset to plug into the controller? I thought it had to be a special ported device to be able to fit?

Lol, yeah.

Well the headset has to be the same size as the 360's mic port. Pretty simple, and I got lucky.

lol, one of my mics i had to tape it to the left side of the battery pack or it wouldnt work. it sucks...

yeah, you could walk 30 feet with controller, put it down nad walk another 20-25 feet while still talking to people.

Talk about something weird. My son has his 360 upstairs, and his controller will turn on his 360 from the downstairs livingroom. Now that's power..

I like MadCatz for everything. I already have their 360 turbo controller, which I use for Tiger Woods. I am waiting for them to make a wireless turbo 360 controller. That will be a good day.

alright listen i think the absolute best mic out right now is the halo 2 plantronics, yes the one for the xbox. well circuit city sells this adapter which gives you the functionality of a 360 mic on an old xbox mic for $10, you can find the logitech mic on ebay for about 15 and then the 10 dollar adapter is a very solid $25 combo

My normal 360 one still works fine, but not in any current-gen games, so I use my Xbox 1 mic for those.
