No Party Chat for MW2

"Have you ever been in a team match in games like Halo or Call of Duty, and the last man alive on your team is being stalked by some 12 year old kid?

Have you found yourself screaming so loud over your microphone informing him that he needs to turn around that you're scaring children in neighboring houses, only to find that he isn't even in the game channel for your Team Hardcore match?

Well not anymore you aren't!

Seems like Microsoft is giving game developers the option to totally negate the Party Chat option, and you'll soon see it on Modern Warfare 2:

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 will force players to decide whether or not they’ll play the game and join the game chat, or choose to stay in a private chat and not play in the multiplayer game. With titles like Gears of War, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, Call of Duty: World at War, and many other online based multiplayer titles, the private chat feature became a way of telling other players of enemy locations after being killed.

As of right now, Private chats are still allowed, but that will soon change. If you've ever had the privilege of playing games with me, then you know that I have a certain talent of announcing the matches while they are in progress, and also giving post game reports... Sadly, this is true, just ask NightStalkar.

So get ready to hear every word that I have to say, because Microsoft has just given me that right... Along with all of the racist 12 year olds who mysteriously act like they all have Tourettes. Someone should probably look into that."

Good, less idiots in Search and Destroy telling their mates on the other side where everyone is, or helping them when they're dead.

It ****ed me off on COD4, S&D ultimately ended up as some retarded TDM where you kill someone, and then try and guess where their bum boy is going to come from because the dead guy just told him where you are in party chat. Not exactly the S&D I remember playing.

Another reason why this is good is because everyone will be forced to use game chat again, where the retarded MLG kiddies can entertain me by embarassing themselves.

first off, no such thing as an mlg cod player because its not on a pro circuit, second this is the gayest idea ever for a game. when i play i game i want to play with my friends only and not have to listen to the other retards on my team. now i have to waste my time at the beginning of every match just to mute everybody in the game. this is going to be one of the most annoying games to ever play online, thanks infinity ward for showing off this new/retarded idea. lets see how many ppl enjoy playing this game when every 6 year old on your team is talking ****.

ever have that annoying kid on your team that just wont shut up? ever have that kid that yells into his mic everytime he dies? ever have that teammate that complains that the match is to laggy? ever have that kid in your match that has the most annoying voice? ever have that kid in your match that complains how glitchy the game is and how it shouldnt have been released? ever have that kid on your team that complains the game should have had a beta and shouldnt have been released?

well i have and i hate everything about these kids.

Isn't there an option to make it so that you can only speak to your friends, and only your friends can hear you? If it's such a problem, do that, or get more friends so you can make a full team.

My bad, the only game types part chat is allowed in are Merc TDM, FFA and 3rd Person FFA.

This honestly is a bad idea. Majority of the times i play modern warfare I play with a full 6 man team which just bypasses all of the crap talking that I hear from the other team. I'll be honest we use it in search and destroy as well as every other gametype.

If you are for some reason gaming by yourself and no one is talking to you, dont you think its because they don't want to?

Its like this will force all call of duty players to trash talk 24/7 and racism will be at an all time high, and i have been through my share of it for a while now. Horrible move by game devs, not properly thought through.

Sooner or later I hope they recognise what chaos they will bring. I might even provoke them on one of their playdates just so they get the damn point

There is a mute button for a reason.

And its so people will actually have to use skill other than their friends information they are feeding them.

And I can confirm that this is all true - and you can literally see a difference without the party chat in SnD
