A hardcore gamer and one of our own, Colin 117 (previously Crono117) knows what it takes to get as many achievements as possible. He wants to play The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion really bad and just hearing about the achievements brightened up his day. You can find him moderating the forums, when he isn't playing his 360, that is. What an addict.
Why don't we start by finding out a little about yourself:
I am a student (full-time in September, bye bye gamerscore) and as a part-time job I perform in a cover band on weekends. It's pretty good money, and lots of fun. I also have a website with a collection of music from original bands I played with in the past, pictures, a guestbook, etc. The website link will be mentioned just a bit lower in this interview.
What do you feel is the hardest achievement out there that you've gotten?
Getting a First Down in Madden '06, MAN WAS IT HARD, no, just kidding... Beating Dark Agent, Perfect Dark Zero.
That you haven't gotten, but know is possible?
No Collisions Single Race, Ridge Racer I did about 16 of these, there is 150 to do in total, just doing 16 took me about 3 hours and after doing the math in my head I said... Never. I have the utmost respect for anyone (like ST TheKing) who has completed this one, it's a marathon.
Be honest; Do you get achievements for fun or bragging rights?
Started out as the former, and definitely turned into being mostly for the latter.
What achievement are you going after next?
There's no fun achievements to go after at the moment, til I get Fight Night Round 3 or Full Auto, so I'm only playing when TheGrayWolf or DrakkenStrike are right on my heels in points just to try and stay ahead. I'm still wondering how GrayWolf shot the moon in Spades... I tried that for like 3 hours, my computer partner is a dope.
What is your favorite game on the 360?
Perfect Dark Zero.
Least favorite?
Dead or Alive 4, just too frustrating.
Favorite multiplayer game?
Perfect Dark Zero.
What will people find you doing most often on your 360?
The plan is for people to see me playing Oblivion all the time, for that is what I've wanted since the release of the system. Gamerscore has kept me busy up till now but as you reach the 18,000 mark the achievements you have left to get are very difficult, or extremely boring.
Are you a hardcore Xbox guy or do you dabble in the dark arts (re: other consoles)?
PS3 will have to give me more reason to get their system then Blu-Ray and games like "Shin Ten Makai V" (I saw their current launch line-up, not impressive) I will probably pick up a Revolution, especially if they allow me to download old-school RPG's!
Do you have any strategies to share with us for any particular achievement?
Apparently you can get the NHL 2K6 penalty shot achievement against a buddy! Wish I would've known that, took a while to get the stupid computer to trip me for one, and I had the options/settings rigged.
What 360 title are you looking forward to next?
