-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- NHL 07 Achievement Guide Written by B Nanny -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This guide covers only gameplay achievements, not any dynasty or tournament achievements. All achievements CAN be done with a 2nd controller, even the “Defeat CPU” achievements! In these achievements, use the 2nd controller as any team, and use your controller as the Western All-Stars. I will refer to teams as 1st and 2nd team. The 1st team is your team, or the team of the player who wants the achievements, and the 2nd team is the 2nd controller team, which will not get achievements. WARNING: Whenever there is an achievement like the Hat Trick in Rookie Mode achievement, you MUST ONLY GET THAT AMOUNT OF GOALS. Let’s say you are using Player A and you score 5 goals with him. You will only get the 5 goals achievement, not the Hat Trick achievement, because the Hat Trick ONLY is unlocked if you have EXACTLY 3 goals. Only do the amount of goals asked, never more, never less, because these amounts of goals are exact, not the requested amount of goals or more. The only exceptions are the Score Goal in whatever difficulty achievements. 1. Powerplay Quarterback Score a goal on the powerplay with a defenseman in All Star Mode (25): For this achievement, hook up your 2nd controller. Push start (with 2nd controller) and pull 2nd team’s goalie. This makes the goalie move out of the goalie area, so he rarely ever blocks. In order to get the Powerplay (or PP) going you must make 2nd team inflict a penalty on 1st team. You do this using one of 2nd team’s players by hitting Y near any of 1st team’s player to jab him with the stick. Then, once you have PP going (a box will form next to the score that says PP) take a defenseman on the 1st team and rush up to the goal and tap B. Most times you will score. 2. Score a goal in All Star Mode Score a goal in All Star Mode (25): This one is pretty simple. Score a goal with any player in all-star mode. To make it easy, pull the goalie on 2nd team and then shoot with 1st team. 3. Victory in All Star Mode Win a game in All Star mode vs. the CPU (25): This one is way easy. Just win an All-Star Mode game; it doesn’t even have to be against the CPU. I got this one while doing the other All-Star achievements with the 2nd controller. 4. Passing Wizard Have one player get 3 assists in Rookie Mode in a game (25): Press start on 1st team’s controller and go to edit lines. Choose the player you want to get the assists and make sure he is on every possible line. Then, just pass the puck from this player to another player and have the player who was passed to score. Use the goalie pulling style to make this easy. 5. Hat Trick in Rookie Mode Have a player get 3 goals in Rookie Mode in a game (25): Do the same thing you did with the Passing Wizard achievement. Open up the Edit Lines screen and choose the player you want to score, and then put him in every line. Pull the goalie on 2nd team to make this easy. 6. Victory in Rookie Mode Win a game in Rookie Mode vs. the CPU (25): This one is way easy. Just win a Rookie Mode game; it doesn’t even have to be against the CPU. I got this one while doing the other Rookie achievements with the 2nd controller. 7. Powerplay Mastery Score 2 goals on the Powerplay with the same player in Pro Mode (25): Do exactly what you did in the Powerplay Quarterback achievement, but you don’t have to do it with a defenseman. Each time you score, the Powerplay ends, so you’ll have to get the Powerplay going a second time in order to get the 2 Powerplay goals with one player. Pull the goalie on 2nd team to make this simple. 8. Dangerous on the PK Score a short handed goal in Pro Mode (25): For this achievement, rather than inflicting a penalty from 2nd team to 1st team, inflict a penalty from 1st team to 2nd team. Then, when 2nd team is on their Powerplay, steal the puck and score. Pull the goalie on 2nd team to make this simple. 9. Victory in Pro Mode Win a game in Pro Mode vs. the CPU (25): This one is way easy. Just win a Pro Mode game; it doesn’t even have to be against the CPU. I got this one while doing the other Pro achievements with the 2nd controller. 10. Player scores 5 goals Score 5 goals in a game with one player (50): This one was also easy. Just score 5 times with a player. Pull 2nd team’s goalie to make it easy. 11. Shutout in Superstar Mode Get a shutout in Superstar Mode (50): This one is effortless if you have the 2nd controller hooked up. Just finish the game without the 2nd team scoring on the 1st team. It shouldn’t happen unless you screw up really badly and accidentally let 2nd team score on 1st team. 12. Score a goal in Superstar Mode Score a goal in Superstar Mode (25): Just score a goal. Pull goalie on 2nd team to make it easy. 13. Victory in Superstar Mode Win a game in Superstar mode vs. the CPU (50): This one is way easy. Just win a Superstar Mode game; it doesn’t even have to be against the CPU. I got this one while doing the other Superstar achievements with the 2nd controller. 14. Hat Trick in Superstar Mode Have a player get 3 goals in Superstar Mode (50): Do the same thing you did with the Passing Wizard achievement. Open up the Edit Lines screen and choose the player you want to score, and then put him in every line. Pull the goalie on 2nd team to make this easy. 15. Shootout Perfection Win a shootout 2-0 without taking the third shot in the shootout (50): Just go in to the shootout game, then press start and go to the settings menu. There will be an option to control the goalies for each team. Turn both options on, then move the goalie out of the way and shoot. This is the easiest achievement in the game. 16. Shootout Winner Win a game in shootout mode (25): You will get this achievement when you get the Shootout Perfection achievement. 17. Complete a ranked online game Play and Complete an Online ranked game (25): Just finish the game. We all know that this is an achievement because it’s literally a challenge to complete an online game on EAs crappy servers.
