-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 1989 Arcade Achievement Guide Written by Riley -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Note: You may want to have two controllers and a buddy handy for some of these achievements (I'll explain). Who is who? (Special thanks to DROGTURIST & Xyjar for putting this piece together). The turtles: Donatello: Purple bandana, staff weapon. Leonardo: Blue bandana, katana sword. Michelangelo: Orange bandana, nunchucks. Raphael: Red bandana, sais (knife-ish weapons). The bosses: Baxter Stockman: The flying boss in the sewers. Bebop: The warthog with the ray-gun. General Traag: The brown stone-boss right before Krang's Robot. Granitor: The blue boss with the flamethrower, scene 4. (Never mentioned by name.) Krang('s Robot): The second-to-last boss, right before Shredder. Rocksteady: The rhino with the assault rifle. Shredder: The final boss. April: The news reporter girl all in yellow. Splinter: The big rat. Foot Clan: Most all the other bad guys who wear assorted colors. 1. Ninjitsu For this achievement, just find a group of enemies, use the special A + X on the group and you should get this, easy achievement (You can get this achievement in both Co-op and Single Player). 2. Lofty Goal For this achievement, you must lose 10 or less health in April's Loft. You either have to have a buddy or be really good at the game. I had my buddy, kill everyone in April's Loft and I would just avoid the enemies as best as I could. You should get this first try (This achievement is single player only). 3. Lickity Split For this achievement, go into April's Loft and kill all the enemies and the boss in under 2:00 minutes. I killed all the enemies in about a minute or so and killed the boss in about a minute. It helps if you use the special or button mash your way through the Loft. Remember practice will make perfect so, if you don't get it first try, practice a bit (This achievement is single player only). 4. Fire Hazard For this achievement, You have to rescue Master Splinter without being burned by the flamethrower. I did this via XBL Co-op. If all the people in the game keep hitting the boss, he won't use his flamethrower. You should get this achievement in 1-2 tries (You can get this achievement in both Co-op and Single Player). 5. Evade For this achievement, You must Defeat General Traag in the Technodrome, losing 20 or less health. You either have to have a buddy or some people via XBL Co-Op to help you. Your buddy kills the boss at the end of the Technodrome and you have to avoid him as best as you can. You have 20 health to lose which is equivalent to 2 lives. You won't need that much if you partner keeps him occupied. To do this over XBL it's basically the same technique (You can get this achievement in both Co-op and Single Player). 6. Deep Freeze For this achievement, You must get past the freezing trap in the Technodrome, without being frozen. You can either do this on your own or you can do this via XBL Co-Op. When on your own, you might want to jump left, right, left, right and so on till you reach the end. If you choose to do this via XBL Co-Op you can have your friends or buddies destroy the machines or the holsters that the ice comes from (You can get this achievement in both Co-op and Single Player). 7. Strategy For this achievement, You must defeat Krang's robot, losing 10 health or less. You can either grab a buddy once again, or do this via XBL Co-Op. I found this very difficult even with a buddy. But, if that's the way you want to go use the same technique as #4 or #5. I did this in Co-Op and I had my friends take him out for me so the attention wasn't focused on me. You might not get this first try as it is difficult (You can get this achievement in both Co-op and Single Player). 8. Turtle Soup For this achievement, You must defeat Shredder without being turned into a regular turtle. At the time of writing this guide, I do not have this achievement. I heard it's glitched for some but, people do have it. This is my advice. You have to be good. This is a single player only achievement. Some people say, you have to defeat him without being turned into a turtle and you can't loose many health bars at all, like under 10. Some say that you can't kill any of Shredders clones and not be turned into a turtle in the process. Until a patch or more information comes out, this is the only word on this achievement (This achievement is single player only). 9. Superhero For this achievement, You must destroy all Parking Meters, Pylons, Barrels, and Speed Signs in the game. Start a new game and destroy all that is possible. There are nothing to be destroyed on the first level (April's Loft). There are lots to destroy after that up until the level before you reach the Technodome. Make sure you get everything and then beat the game. That's how the achievement unlocked. So, be patient and beat the game after you destroy all the stuff. Note: There is one sign on the second level, that can't be destroyed, so don't worry (This achievement is single player only). 10. Slice and Dice For this achievement, you must earn 250 points, individually, in an Xbox Live CO-OP game. Get a buddy, have him hang back while you destroy everything. When you get upto Baxter Stockman: The flying boss in the sewers, there will be robot dogs that come out. By that time you should have 150 point. Just keep killing the dogs until the achievement pops (This achievement is Co-Op only). 11. Real Ultimate Power For this achievement, You must defeat Shredder in an Xbox Live CO-OP game, and live to tell the tale. Get a decent or good team together to play online. Have the two people that want the achievement to hang back and conserve their lives. Have the other two guys kill as much as they can and kill the boses. You want to go into Shredder with only two people because there will only be three clones. Very easy, especially if you have at least 5-6 or 7 lives at this point. Remember, if you want the achievement, you must beat Shredder and live (This achievement is Co-Op only). 12. In the Dark For this achievement, You must fall into a manhole 5 times. Easiest achievement in the game. Pick a manhole any manhole and fall into it 5 times. (You can get this achievement in both Co-op and Single Player).
